Can Someone Be Christian and Pro Choice?

Can someone be pro-choice and still consider themselves Christian? What does the Bible say in regard to being pro-life? The Author of Life

When Peter and John were witnessing to the Jews in what is called Solomon’s portico, Peter said “But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses” (Acts 3:14-15). Here Peter was saying that they chose a murderer over the “Author of life” and that of course was Jesus. The crowd was so compelled to take the Son of God’s life that they released a murderer and murdered by majority vote, Jesus Christ. They preferred a murderer over He Who gives life. What a travesty, right? Now, think about this. There are many Christians who prefer to be pro-choice, which is really pro-abortion, over being pro-life and taking the life of an innocent, unborn child. When does life begin? Is it at conception? Is it at the first trimester? What does the Bible say about this and when is a baby, embryo or fetus considered a human being? When Life Begins

Here are some Bible verses that clearly indicate that God considers someone to be alive and be a person, and in some cases even have a name and purpose, even before they’re actually born. These verses will prove that even before a child is conceived, they are, in the mind of God, a human being.

Psalm 139:13 “For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.”

Thou shalt not kill is not a suggestion...

The Bible reads that "thou shall not MURDER"

No more than one can be Christian and support the right for another to murder.

Some here defend Rand Paul as pro-life, but he is pro-choice.

Rand Paul speaks:
“I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,” Paul advised. “The Republican Party is not going to give up on having quite a few people who do believe in traditional marriage. But the Republican Party also has to find a place for young people and others who don’t want to be festooned by those issues.”

“The thing is about abortion—and about a lot of things—is that I think people get tied up in all these details of, sort of, you’re this or this or that, or you’re hard and fast (on) one thing or the other,” Paul told Elliott. “I’ve supported both bills with and without (exceptions), you know. In general, I am pro-life.

Pro choice is the PC way of saying pro abortion, so the short answer is NO.

No. The two worldviews can not co-exist in the same person.

Oddly enough, the best guidance is from the old testament, with one of the strongest Biblical injunctions against those who sacrificed their children to the pagan god Moloch.

It was clear that not only are baby killers to themselves be killed, but anyone who offers them comfort or assistance, or even knows of them but does nothing.

This means absolute, complete intolerance, with no forgiveness or grace.

NO, but then again, I also believe that you cannot be Catholic and vote, other than in a local election, for a democrat.

It is about here that I pause everyone and ask “are you reading the article past the title”

“To say “I’m pro-choice” is only being spoken from the perspective of the one whose opinion seems to matter. For them it is a choice but really, it is a child. The child has no choice in the matter of whether they live or die. I love what the late President Ronald Reagan said “I notice that everyone that’s pro-choice has already been born.” If you are pro-choice, you should thank your mother that she wasn’t with you! You are alive and living because your mother choose life. “

Can someone be pro-choice and still consider themselves Christian?

It doesn't matter what they consider themselves.

Rush Limbaugh is...as long as that choice is for life.

When did Rush Limbaugh self-identify as a Christian?

So you don’t believe in progressive sanctification? You believe He changes our hearts in all ways at the moment we are born again?

I certainly believe we are positionally sanctified (see free from sin and fitted for heaven) at the moment we experience the new birth, but I also believe we grow in grace throughout the rest of our lives. Spiritual maturity takes time.

Proverbs 6:16-19New King James Version (NKJV)

16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,

HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD

18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.
New King James Version (NKJV)
