When Hell Has a Hashtag
ncr ^ | 5.26.15 | Simcha Fisher

Posted on 05/27/2015 6:36:12 PM PDT by Coleus

#CharlieCharlieChallenge is a popular hashtag on Twitter today. According to the BBC Trending blog, it refers to

a game which involves balancing pencils over the words "yes" and "no" on a piece of paper. Players ask questions which are supposedly answered by Charlie - a mysterious demon who spookily moves the pencils, if you believe in that sort of thing.

The BBC says, "if you believe in that sort of thing" because it does sound pretty goofy: A mysterious Mexican demon moving pencils around at the behest of eleven-year-old Mackynzie, who wants to know if Conor likes her or not. Who would believe nonsense like that? If Hell has its own hashtags, how scary could it be?

Listen up, folks. It doesn't matter who made up this game, how, or why. Only a fool would play it, and you should make sure your kids know this. I've said it before: Satan isn't fussy.

He doesn't care if you are kidding or not when you call him by name ...  An invitation is an invitation, and Satan doesn't stand on manners. You may not see Exorcist-style special effects when the Father of Lies creeps into your life. You may not realize anything has happened to you at all, as the rift between you and God slowly gets deeper and wider.

Oy vey, is Simcha a Catholic?

When I was a kid we used to play with the magic 8 ball and am horrified on what could have happened to us.

You were one step away from human sacrifices. Glad you escaped the M8B cult.

When I was in middle school, some kids would play a similar game called “lie detector”. They'd tape a coin at the end of a one-foot piece of thread. Someone would hold the thread, then be asked a question.

The answer was judged this way: If the coin swung back and forth in a straight line, the answer was truthful. If the coin started moving in a circle, it was a lie.

Interestingly enough, the coin always moved in one of those two ways. No demon was involved. Just the power of suggestion.

LOL...yea, I can’t believe it, I asked a question, shook that ball and waited for the answer to pop up through the window. Glad I made it out alive, lol...

You’re horrified on what could have happened? Magic 8 ball is basically a floating dice in ink.

Good God. Remember being young, stupid, and looking at useless utensils for answers (ouiga (sp?), mirrors, etc.). As if.

The casual attitude so many people have to Ouija boards and such these days is very concerning. I'm sure people messed with this stuff in the past, but with the massive number of people no longer practicing their Christian faith, the numbers have to have increased.

Gravity and the awkward positioning of some pencils cause the pencil to move with the slightest vibration or air current such as when the speaker's breath reaches the pencil.

There’s nothing to be concerned about with Ouija boards. it’s been shown, even with people who believed in them, that if you blindfold all the participants, it doesn’t work.

There is no power in a Ouija board, but using a Ouija board is dangerous because it invites any spirit that happens to be hanging around to come and take partial possession of your subconscious mind. Passiveness, eagerness to receive, and indiscriminate acceptance are especially dangerous, because they are an open invitation to every spirit that has an agenda. You may take my word for this or not, as you please, but I proved it for myself by experience.

I've seen things that lead me to believe they do work.

But even if they don't "work," they are used to in the very least to attempt to contact the dead, which is explicitly forbidden in the Bible.
