First, a word on why Protestants tend to object to prayer to the Saints. Can't be a Catholic thread without knocking Protestants!

I’m not getting anything wrong about it. I do not pray to Saints. I pray to God.

Interesting article.
In that it REFUTES and CONTRADICTS all the Catholic Freepers who have denied for years Proddy assertions that Catholics pray to Saints.

My question is, why would I NEED to pray to a Saint? It’s not like God is too busy to hear my prayer. He is infinite, all-seeing and all-knowing.
So, even if I do to pray to a Saint, He knows about my prayer well before the Saint has a chance to pass it on to Him.

Three Things You're Probably Getting Wrong about Praying to the Saints LOL the number one thing on the list is they're praying to saints.
"People exploit me for my connections, worshipping me as a way to get closer to Jesus," said the Holy Virgin, bathed in a golden light and attended by seraphim. "How would Anthony feel if I called upon him in the guise of friendship, but simply wanted his cousin to do some plumbing work for me? It's just rude."

The question I would ask is, would a Christian ask another Christian to PRAY for him or her as well to God?
It is simply to ASK those home with God to PRAY to GOD for you!
It is called the “communion the saints.”

“But the first premise — that the faithful departed are dead — is false, and directly contrary to Scripture.”
Unless you are Jesus Christ, you don’t know who is living in heaven and who is not, since we don’t have the ability to see into peoples’ hearts and judge how faithful they were. Since none of us here are Jesus Christ, we cannot assume someone who has passed on is actually alive in heaven. We can hope, but we can’t assume.

The author was clearly poorly catechized.

Scripture repeatedly calls for us to pray for one another (e.g., 1 Thessalonians 5:25; 2 Thes. 3:1; Colossians 4:3; Hebrews 13:18), to make supplications for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18), and for supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings to be made for all men (1 Timothy 2:1). Neither in praying for one another nor in asking one another for prayers do we risk offending God in the slightest. Quite the contrary: This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:3-4).
Prepositions are our friends. Prayers FOR others are supported in scripture. Prayers TO each other, which is what the article admits is going on between earthbound believers and saints in heaven is not scriptural.

My question is, why would I NEED to pray to a Saint? You don't. OTOH, just as you have probably asked a friend to pray for you, there is nothing wrong with asking a saint to do the same thing. The saints are closer to God since they stand in His presence, unlike your friend on earth. In both instances, their prayers are offered up to God.

Not the title of the source:
Shameless popery It's OK for Catholics to refer to themselves in this manner, but let a Protestant do the same and there are howls of feigned indignation!

Can't be a Catholic thread without knocking Protestants! Puhlease ... no one is knocking protestants, Alex. This is no different from some of the protestant threads, like the recent one, posted by metmom, on the Communion of Saints.
