I'll bet Joseph ETAL said this to ALL the girls!!
Not so...
Oh?
And you KNOW this HOW?
Storm Prepper tell you?
Elsie, we had lots of fun when the subject was Mormonism.
But I’ve been a Catholic all my life. Turned toward Evangelicalism in college & I have loved Bible study ever since, but the divine Presence of Christ through the sacraments at the Mass is the core of my Christian faith. I believe that Jesus bequeathed His powers of consecration & forgiveness to His apostles, from whom there is a chain of apostolic succession down to the present day.
Wouldn’t have cared two cents about Mormonism until I began to learn of the anti-Catholicism that is hardwired into the LDS church, which also refers to Protestant denominations as the “lewd daughters of Rome”. The mishies did try to convert me on my way to Vietnam, but that’s decades gone.
I don’t worship Mary the Mother of Jesus but I venerate her memory and those of the Saints whose lives are given as examples for us.
Threads like this one often degenerate into pronouncements as to who is or is not a true Christian. That led to the Thirty Years’ War among other sectarian strifes.
Christ is my Savior and I call on His Name several times daily. No prayer unto His throne has ever gone unanswered.
They dedicate themselves entirely to Mary yet deny she is somehow their deity.
It is part of the Nicene Creed. “begotten by the Father”. It is an article of faith for us. It has been that way for over 1500 years. Odd that you question it now...
“and has most lamented this forum’s existence?”
Holy smoke, I was indulging in a little hyperbole! No calls for religious war here.
Maybe I should have said that the passing of judgement on someone’s Christianity such as goes on here can appear to be intolerance of individual differences.
Criticizing a thread is not calling for its abolition, IMO.
Let’s debate, but without the implied charge of apostasy.
My question to you is...
Have you paid attention over the years to which group of worshippers has most requested the demise of the FR Religion forum and has most lamented this forum’s existance?
No. I dont post threads that mock the faith of others. I dont see that as the Christian thing to do.
You RC bias is showing. Where have you been even in the past 3 years (never even seen you here) when RCs were posting threads like,

And which is just a few, plus multitudes of pro RC polemics for herself that invite and incite debate.
But all RCs see is what reproves Rome's errors and elitism, and whine about what exposes her. Which is what their posting has resulted in, as can be shown, by God's grace.
And when we brought up the issue of the plethora of papist postings, i was told we should post our own, so now that has happened more yet RCs still complain.
Interestingly, RCs have influence over the google algorithms.
Search “ why catholics dislike protestants “.
So when an elitists church damns us all to Hell, or at least says our churches are not worthy to be called churches, and her devottees incessantly post articles that promote Rome and impugn our faith, even if sometimes using strawmen (want multitude examples?), we are not to be allowed to counter this errors and elitism?
Mary supplied the body, not the divinity...Mary had other children...They had no divinity...
Does scripture describe the birth of any other children that Mary may have had as follows?
“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Was not the child that “shall be born” fully human and fully divine at the time of His birth? And by conceiving in her womb and bringing forth “that holy thing that shall be called the Son of God,” did Mary not become the mother of this child in His humanity and in His divinity; that is, the mother of God incarnate?
If this is not so, please explain.
Frankly, i am amazed at seeing posters whom i have never seen post here on the FR in my quite active engagement over the years, come in here and display their ignorance of what has been going on for years with RCs incessantly posting articles and posts which invite and incite debate, a sample of which post 472 lists, and then whine when countered.
No, it doesn’t concern me because Jim Robinson is a champion of freedom of expression & he won’t allow that to happen.
If you’re implying that it’s Catholics who complain the most about this Religion Forum, then I would remind my fellow Catholics that Holy Mother Church has endured far worse than a few online critics, and those Catholics should grow a thicker skin.
A far greater threat to Rome is our current screwball Pope, but we’ve had those before, especially during the Renaissance. As a layman I could have told the College of Cardinals to never, never, elect a Jesuit to anything, they’ve been nothing but trouble over the last four centuries.
I assume that Protestant critics of the Church of Rome believe in Sola Scriptura, which I am quite familiar with. FWIW, I’ll take a fervent independent Protestant any day over the mushiness of the major denominations.
