Amazing then that almost all the words of the Hail Mary are from the Bible:

Luke 1

26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,

27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

28 And he came to her and said, "Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!"

39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah,

40 and she entered the house of Zechari'ah and greeted Elizabeth.

41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy.

45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord."

And Jesus never carried a Bible.

LOL! Yeah, well, the Word of God didn't really need to carry a copy of the Word of God.

John 5:39 [Jesus said:] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

>>So what? The word Bible is not in the Bible either.<<

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book (biblos) of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Greek - biblos - a written book [http://biblehub.com/greek/976.htm]

Origin of the word Bible - The English word Bible is from the Latin biblia, from the same word in Medieval Latin and Late Latin and ultimately from Koine Greek τὰ βιβλία ta biblia "the books" (singular βιβλίον biblion). [Harper, Douglas. "bible". Online Etymology Dictionary.]

When praying a rosary one contemplates the life of Christ as told in the gospels. How is that not scriptural?

Praying of Rosary was encouraged when Lucia Dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto claimed to have an apparition from an angel teaching them to pray in the spring of 1916. They were asked to pray repeatedly by the angel who appeared to them. This is why the Catholics were convinced that they have to pray repeatedly.

Three kids claimed to have seen this apparition and as far as I know, there were no other witnesses. So why do so many people believe that it really took place and was not a story that the kids made up?

This sounds like all of the UFO sightings. The flying saucers are always seen in a remote area by only one or a few witnesses. They never land in places like Times Square or the National Mall.

“Nor is the “Prayer Circle” where a bunch of materialistic minded holier-than-thou Christians sit around asking for “things” instead of asking for God’s help and mercy with their self-righteousness.”

You speak as if you’ve witnessed this first hand. May I ask, what your experience with this “prayer circle” is?

I'm neither for nor against it. My gripe is the self-righteous bashing others as a form of internet sport.

We are all the body of Christ and this feeding frenzy of bashing one another is ugly.

"And Jesus never carried a Bible."

Good. If Jesus wanted writing to be His final word, He would have written it. He is recorded as only writing once and that was in sand. Jesus believed in teaching through people, good and bad.

The word Bible is not in the Bible either.

Matthew 1:1; Mark 12:26; Luke 3:4; Luke 20:42; Acts 1:20; Acts 7:42; Acts 19:19; Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:5; Revelation 20:15

The word translated book in each of those verses is the Greek word "byblos" from which we get the word "Bible."

I've never seen that but it sounds a lot like BINGO night.

That's a great point! (not really)

Jesus Christ IS the Word of God.

>>And Jesus never carried a Bible.<<

Would you suggest that Jesus didn't carry the words of scripture around in His memory or are you simply playing word semantics?

It reminds me of this.

Witch Hunt Lyrics

Everybody look, there's a new bandwagon in town
Hop on board and let the wind carry you around
Seems like there's not enough to keep us busy till the Lord comes back
Don Quixote's gotta have another windmill to attack

Another witch hunt looking for evil wherever we can find it
Off on a tangent, hope the Lord won't mind it
Another witch hunt, takin' a break from all our gospel labor
On a crusade but we forgot our saber

There's a new way to spend all our energies
We're up in arms instead of down on our knees
Walkin' over dollars trying to find another dime
Never mind the souls 'cause we really haven't got the time

So send out the dogs and tally ho
Before we sleep tonight we've got miles to go
No one is safe, no stone's left unturned
And we won't stop until somebody gets burned
Bro, bro, bro, bro, bro, bro, brothers

Witch Hunt - Petra
