March 20 Solar Eclipse and the Four Blood Moons
vanity

You are probably aware of the Four Blood Moons, but there is some related info that might be new to you. Between the 2nd and 3rd blood moons, there will be a significant total solar eclipse. Here are some of the strange facts for everyone to consider.

(By the way, I am not a Bible scholar, by any means. The facts might have prophetic meaning, or they might be just celestial poetry.)

The central meaning of “Passover” is in Exodus when the firstborn of all Egypt was killed but death “passed over” those who had the blood on the lintel and two doorposts of their door.

The result of being passed over was Israel’s exodus from slavery and bondage. In the same way, once we are saved by the blood of Jesus, we too are delivered from slavery and bondage.

The Passover meal and crucifixion was prophesied among other things in Scripture by the orginal passover when they killed the Lamb and the blood of the Lamb protected them.

Almost 2,000 years before the crucifixion, when the pattern was repeated again, exactly:

Exodus 12 King James Version (KJV)

12 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,

2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:

4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses (IMHO a prelude to the sign of the Cross), wherein they shall eat it.

8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.

Regardless if you call it a lunar eclipse or blood moon, it may still be a significant sign/warning.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Btw, the final "blood moon" this fall will be seen in the land of Israel just before the sun rises on the beginning of Sukkot / Feast of Tablernacles.

Someone put a lot of hard work into that research. I didn't seen anything I disagreed with. It's very well done.

Thank you VERY much for posting!

Can anyone quote from the bible Jesus' words where He DID claim to be the Messiah?

Does this suffice?

Mark 8:27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?

28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.

30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.

31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Between the 2nd and 3rd blood moons, there will be a significant total solar eclipse.

After the first blood moon there was a solar eclipse on April 29, 2014, and after the second blood moon there was a solar eclipse on October 23, 2014.

Yes.

A side-note to this, not on direct point to this discussion but still interesting and relevant I think. Everyone inside the house covered by the blood was saved. However, those inside some houses were very frightened that they would be killed. Others rested in God’s promise and enjoyed their evening knowing they were safe and sound under the blood because of God’s promise. Regardless of whether they were afraid, all those inside houses covered with the blood were saved. The difference was the quality of life they spent while the passover took place.

Today, we have the same thing. Many believers in Christ still are afraid and worry about whether they will be OK and go to Heaven. But others know that Jesus blood is efficacious to do what God promised, knowing they are saved and going to Heaven, and are happy and enjoying life, resting in God’s promise. Like the Hebrews of old under the blood of the lamb, even more so today, all believers in Christ will be saved because of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice and blood. It’s just a question of the quality and peace in their lives depending on their faith in the grace and faithfulness of God’s promise.

"Since Jesus refused by word and deed to claim to be the Messiah,Is this true?

Can anyone quote from the bible Jesus' words where He DID claim to be the Messiah?

Indeed we can. Multiple times, in fact.

"He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter replied, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' And Jesus answered him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. . . . Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ" (Matt.16:15-17,20)

"Again the high priest asked him, 'Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?' And Jesus said, 'I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven'" (Mark 14:61-62).

"The woman said to him, 'I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.' Jesus said to her, 'I who speak to you am he'" (John 4:25-26).

Those are the three I remember off the top of my head. There are also numerous times where someone else declares Jesus to be the Messiah (or the Christ, which is simply the Greek equivalent) and Jesus makes no further comment, and all the times that Jesus declares himself indirectly to be the Messiah when he says that various Old Testament scriptures are referring to himself, and all the apostolic authors who declare him to be Christ after the fact, as it were. However, he does refer to himself as the Messiah directly, at least those three times.

Peter is speaking not Jesus.

In the parallel account in Matthew 16, Jesus tells Peter that he was correct.

What is obvious here is that on the first day of the week, Sunday, when the Disciples went to the Tomb of Jesus, He was already risen! The Tomb was Empty!

If Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday because the Passover Sabbath was on Thursday, why did the disciples wait until Sunday to visit his tomb? The women went there to anoint his body with burial spices. What was stopping them from going on Friday to perform this rather urgent task?

Matt 27:62 Now the next day [Passover the high Sabbeth], that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.

66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

If Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday because the Passover Sabbath was on Thursday, why did the disciples wait until Sunday to visit his tomb?

Each successive day was a Sabbath day, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Also, at Christ’s death, all the apostles scattered, remember?
It was only in the dark, before sunrise, after the 3rd full day, that they went to the tomb.

The women went there to anoint his body with burial spices. What was stopping them from going on Friday to perform this rather urgent task?

Friday was a Sabbath day, there would have been no menial labor done, no work, if someone was buying and selling on the Sabbath, they would have been breaking Sabbath law.

Thursday was Passover starting at 6pm
Friday was unleavened Bread, starting at 6pm
Saturday was the regular Sabbath, starting at 6pm

OK, this is at least plausible, though not persuasive enough to get around the fact that the Gospels say that Jesus was crucified on Paraskeue, the sixth day of the week.

That said:

Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. (Matt. 28:1-4)

If Pilate granted the Jewish authorities the use of a guard until "the third day," then the guards should have packed up and left on Saturday night, yet apparently they were still there sometime before dawn.

If the Wednesday-crucifixion crowd is going to insist that three days means exactly three twenty-four-hour periods, then the same precision must apply in this case. You can't have your cake and eat it too. The best you can get from a Wednesday crucifixion is a Saturday resurrection.

Matthew 26:

62 And the high priest arose and said to Him, “Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?” 63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, “I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!” 64 Jesus said to him,“It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! 66 What do you think?”

They answered and said, “He is deserving of death.”

67 Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands, 68 saying, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?”(NKJV)

Yes Jesus did confirm to those accusing Him He was the Messiah, the Son of God. Then look at Luke 24 where this is confirmed as well.

Luke 24:

44 Then He said to them,“These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”(NKJV)
