I plan to post, in sequence, an English translation of the Koran. I will probably not be able to post every day, but it will be frequent. Each post will have approximately 15 to 25 verses. Today's posting is a bit long, since the Surah Al-Fatihah is fluff.
The purpose of posting the Koran is to obtain an understanding of Islam so that we better know thy enemy.
Feel free to compare and contrast to Holy Bible.

I have read passages but a sequential course of study sounds great!

With the Quran, it is important to note whether a surah was "revealed at Mecca" or "revealed at Medina". The "peace" verses are the early (Mecca) verses. The "sword" verses are the later (Medina) verses. The Quran is not laid out chronologically. It is laid out in order of the length of the verses, longest first.
Chronological Order of the Qur'an. Verse 1 is actually chronologically #5, and verse 9 (the biggest of the "sword" verses) is chronologically next to last.

I would not call Surah #1 - Al Fatihah fluff. It is an introduction or a preamble. Would you call the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution fluff?
