Michael Moore invokes Jesus in 'Sniper' rant, [Fox News] Todd Starnes fires back
Christian Examiner ^ | 1/26/2015 | Todd Starnes

Clint Eastwood's "American Sniper" had another jaw-dropping weekend, reaching an impressive $200 million at the domestic box office. Despite the film's colossal success, liberals like former DNC chairman Howard Dean and director Michael Moore just won't let "American Sniper" go.

Over the weekend, Moore invoked Jesus in a slew of incendiary tweets aimed at dishonoring American soldiers and the Iraq war.

One tweet stated "Tomorrow's Sunday School (1 What Would Jesus Do? Oh, I know what he'd do --hide on top of a roof and shoot people in the back!"

He followed that tweet with: Sunday School: (2) But What Would Jesus Do if he could be a sniper & save soldiers lives by shooting 'savages' in the back?"

Fox News' Starnes sounded off on Monday against Moore: "There was a time when Hollywood and Democrats stood in solidarity with our fighting men and women," Starnes said. "Folks like Jimmy Stewart and Bob Hope and John Wayne - American heroes. Those days are long gone and our sweet land of liberty has been soiled by the stinking stench of Michael Moore and Howard Dean and their liberal minions."

Hasn’t Moore ever been to the White House? There are multiple snipers on the roof. Are they cowards? Does Moore advocate their removal? Or do only Dumbocrats deserve to be protected?

Lardbrain couldn’t do more to promote the movie if he tried. He’s too stupid to see that... but then, he is a lardbrain.

Agreed! Liberalism IS A MENTAL DISORDER!

While we’re discussing commie comments, what were Vietnam VETERANS called by the media during and immediately after that war?

I’m thinking this Michael Moore character warrants the Laz Editorial treatment.

Lard, some good flour and a little buttermilk is all you need for great biscuits. Plus some butter and maybe some sorghum cane syrup for when they’re done.
I grew up watching my Grandmother butcher 2-3 hogs every fall and got to help render the fat into lard in a big black iron pot over a wood fire. She was as old-fashioned as you could get. The first time I thought my arms would fall off-you cannot stop stirring or the lard will scorch and be ruined.
Still remember that awesome fresh sausage in her equally awesome biscuits...
Da-yam, now I’m hungry!

Has anyone ever checked to see if Moore’s uncle was killed by a sniper? People I know who lost relatives never found out how they died, just that they weren’t coming back home.

MM always digs the hole just a little bit deeper.

Of course... It's the only way he can fit his adipose carcass *within* said hole...

Really?
In your world, there's a 1:1 proportionality between Hollywood Libs and patriotic conservatives?

REALLY???

I'm assuming you didn't make it as far as this part of my post?

That doesn’t mean that Hollywood isn’t a vipers pit of whacked out Proglodytes like Moore, just that it isn’t an absolute.

Like I said, the writer made an absolutist statement about the days of there being Bob Hopes and Jimmy Stewarts in Hollywood being gone. That does a grave disservice to guys like Sinese, who work their hearts out supporting our servicement and, indeed, called out people like Moore (or, in Sinese's case, Maher) for their reprehensible comments.

This is just Moore talking about his gardener, Jesus.

We don’t have to speculate here. Jesus DID meet a soldier very much like Cris Kyle. He was Roman Centurian. To become the leader of 100 men in the Roman army one had to fight lots of battles and kill hundreds of men. What was Jesus’ response to this gentile “armed killer”? Jesus complimented him for having more faith than anyone in Israel.

Matthew 8:5-13

Thanks for pointing that out.

The point is, Jesus won't tell anyone well done thou good and faithful servant for killing radical islamists. One must be born again to get into heaven, and that goes for Michael Moore, Chris Kyle and whomever - everyone - and Todd Starnes should know this. Moore should know better than to inject Jesus into this, too.

Secondly, we should be careful when citing scriptures like this, because I am sure that radicals have their scriptures they could cite with Muhammad, the 10th Avatar, whomever, wiping people out.

I wouldn’t have injected Jesus into this i9and neither side should have) and Starnes shouldn’t have said that Jesus should or may say “Well done thou good and faithful servant” for killing Jihadists.

That will not get anyone into heaven, and neither will any kinds of works on our part. It is by grace alone that we are saved. We must be “born again” to get into heaven.

As I said before - one should be careful citing such scriptures because undoubtedly Jihadis have their own scriptures like that with the 10th Avatar or Muhammed or whomever coming back and wiping people out.

If ever I met Howard Dean or Michael Moore, I would ask myself "What would Jesus do?"

And then I would recall that when he confronted those with whom he took exception, he utilized a bullwhip.

Jesus did so because His Fathers House - the Temple- was being polluted by the moneychangers, etc.

Just because he did this doesn’t mean we get to do the same. He is God, and we are not.

Yes, we must fight Jihadists, but Starnes was wrong to even imply (if that is what he did) that one can get into heaven by killing wackjob Jihadists. And Moore was wrong to inject Jesus into this in the first place.
