I can think of no other reason that people would reject Jesus except that they love their sin too much.
All the rest is simply excuses.
I agree .. Herod never repented for the wholesale slaughter of the children he thought were going to replace him as king. This would have occurred before Herod’s meeting with John the Baptist.
Thanks for posting this. Kinda like drinking or drug abuse. It takes over their lives.
I think there is no doubt about that. Even Jesus said they loved darkness rather than light.
....”I can think of no other reason that people would reject Jesus except that they love their sin too much”....
Though excuses are part of it...sometimes people simply don’t understand sufficiently enough to make a decision. They need to hear more than what they’re given to make that decision, or have questions that need further understanding.
I think the difference also is some are seeking God....those not really aren’t ready though they may be “polite” and listen the interest isn’t there yet.
Another thing is Salvation is the work of the Holy Spirit....not ours...and far too many people attempt to “win souls” apart from his prompting...they go it alone though their intent might be sincere.
God knows whose heart is prepared and not.....we don’t. So it’s always better to let the Lord lead rather than jump ahead of Him. Many don’t wait.
