No. The Catholic faith has a contiguous history stretching back to Christ and the Apostles.

IF this were true; there would be EVIDENCE of it: not conjecture.

I think this thread is a YACVP one; this one’s going to wind down soon.

WOW!

My white Casper needs his toenails trimmed and he doesn't go down easily either!

I'm thinking of getting (or making) this cute little device...

Ya just back him up to it, pickup his front feet and over he goes!

(Ya... if he's heavily sedated!!!)

“IF this were true; there would be EVIDENCE of it: not conjecture.”

There is evidence - as many Protestants have discovered.

Here’s an example:

My whole life, marriage, family, and career were bound up in Protestantism. My discoveries in Church history were an enormous threat to that identity, so I turned to biblical studies looking for comfort and help. I thought that if I could be absolutely confident in the Reformers’ appeal to Scripture, then I essentially could dismiss 1500 years of Christian history. I avoided Catholic scholarship, or books that I thought were intended to undermine my faith, and focused instead on what I thought were the most objective, historical, and also Protestant works of Biblical scholarship. I was looking for rock-solid proof that the Reformers were right in their understanding of Paul. What I did not know was that the best in twentieth century Protestant scholarship had already rejected Luther’s reading of the Bible. http://chnetwork.org/2012/02/a-protestant-historian-discovers-the-catholic-church-conversion-story-of-a-david-anders-ph-d/

Or:

The Devil Theory collapses on the most superficial analysis. Christians justifiably take pride in their heritage, yet the Catholic Church was the only Christian Church for at least 1500 years (leaving aside the 11th century Orthodox break). Why would Christ have allowed his Church to wallow in the mire of falsehood and heresy for so long? What kind of witness would that have provided to the world? If Christ did indeed establish a Church, wouldn’t He have providentially protected her from significant error? http://www.reformed.org/webfiles/antithesis/index.html?mainframe=/webfiles/antithesis/v1n5/ant_v1n5_why.html

Or:

One of the most satisfying things about my discovery of the Catholic Church is that it fully satisfied my desire for historical rootedness. I began to study history believing in that continuity of faith and trying desperately to find it. Even when I thought I had found it in the Reformation, I still had to contend with the enormous gulf of the Catholic Middle Ages. Now, thanks to what Calvin taught me, there are no more missing links. On November 16, 2003 I finally embraced the faith “once for all delivered to the Saints.” I entered the Catholic Church. http://www.calledtocommunion.com/2010/06/how-john-calvin-made-me-a-catholic/

Well; you've posted the HERESAY; but, as Clara used to wonder: Where's the beef?

Show the evidence; not other peoples claims to have seen it.

I get enough of that rigamarole from the 'witnesses' to the Mormon Golden Plates.

He was, and ostensibly is, an evangelical of the mushy, compromised, Message Bible, praise band, Jesusy love song, goat baptizing, navel-gazing, cheesy drama, short pep-talk self-improvement sermon, manmade church growth, loyalty oath, coffee and bagel bar, mega-church wing.

Bullseye.

OOOps; yet another Protestant turned Catholic that fails to understand:

Matthew 13:24-30

Don't worry, Dave; Christ's 'church' is doing just as He said it would.

“Show the evidence; not other peoples claims to have seen it.”

Right, as if you would ever believe anything posted to you anyway.

“I get enough of that rigamarole from the ‘witnesses’ to the Mormon Golden Plates.”

Well, it’s irrelevant anyway since you already posted what you’re now demanding evidence for. Your own words convict you. If I post those words again, however, I’ll be gigged by the Rel Mod so that’s where it will have to stay.
