Christians refer to Heaven as home. Catholics refer to their religion as home.

There are many meanings of that word. As a Protestant on her way to home (I’m in RCIA), home does not mean what you are insinuating. So stop. Just stop.

So I suppose you have never in your life referred to the house you live in as home? Cause that’s not Heaven either.

EWTN: Eternal Word Television Network.

What a blessing it is to have them. Mark Grodi is a wonderful host. He brings on so many of the Protestant converts to Catholicism and their stories are most interesting.

I always note that NONE of the Catholic converts have anything but GOOD things to say about their Protestant roots and past.

Go forth, faithful Christian!
May you live in peace this day,
may your home be with God in Zion,
with Mary, the virgin Mother of God,
with Joseph, and all the angels and saints.

Catechism of the Catholic Church #1020

And

CCC 260 The ultimate end of the whole divine economy is the entry of God’s creatures into the perfect unity of the Blessed Trinity. But even now we are called to be a dwelling for the Most Holy Trinity: “If a man loves me”, says the Lord, “he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him”:

Well parish is home to me. I belong to my parish. There was a time when every single one of my friends was a Catholic. Now I live where there are less Catholics. Sad really.

Unlike the FRoman converts who frequent the Religion Forum.

Well, terycarl, iscool can rest his case.

Post 11 here, the very next post, validates it.

Catholics consider Catholicism their home.

Meanwhile, Christians consider heaven their home.

Heaven is present at Holy Mass, daily. I am rather sorry that you have no need of the spiritual side of life. It is quite a comfort to those of us who are on our Journey.

I am not going to argue about it with you or your friends that you called for backup. But until you have encountered Christ in the Eucharist, there really is no way to explain it to you that you would accept or understand.

Catholics consider Catholicism their home. Meanwhile, Christians consider heaven their home.

Catholics do not believe in Heaven...That's why their religion, or their building is as close to a physical heaven as they will ever get...That's why it is Home for them...

According to the pope they call John:

Metaphorically speaking, heaven is understood as the dwelling-place of God

In three controversial Wednesday Audiences, Pope John Paul II pointed out that the essential characteristic of heaven, hell or purgatory is that they are states of being of a spirit (angel/demon) or human soul, rather than places, as commonly perceived and represented in human language.

However the biblical metaphor makes it clear that God does not identify himself with heaven, nor can he be contained in it (cf. 1 Kgs 8:27); and this is true, even though in some passages of the First Book of the Maccabees "Heaven" is simply one of God's names (1 Mc 3:18, 19, 50, 60; 4:24, 55).

The thought of hell — and even less the improper use of biblical images — must not create anxiety or despair, but is a necessary and healthy reminder of freedom within the proclamation that the risen Jesus has conquered Satan, giving us the, Spirit of God who makes us cry "Abba, Father!" (Rm. 8:15; Gal. 4:6)

From Here...

Catholics admittedly are NOT 'born again' Christians...They don't believe in a physical heaven...They don't know what the REAL, real presence is...They teach that their good works is what will get them into this 'utopia' called heaven...Hell is not a physical place...Purgatory is not a physical place...

They invented a religion that can not be found in the scriptures...Other than the name 'Christian' they stole from the scriptures, there in no connection between their religion and Christianity...

At the link is an interesting Catholic read...

I have no problem with what the Holy Father said. I am not sure what your concept of heaven is. But, it is not at all correct to say Catholics do not believe in heaven. We do, just not in the way you think we should.

Certainly not in the way God describes it in the scriptures...

Apparently Origen couldn't figure it out or more than likely didn't care much for what he found in the scriptures...He then convinced your religion that most of the bible didn't mean what it said...It all meant something else but that something else is a mystery to this day...

All those metaphors left a tremendous amount of blanks in the scriptures so you religion filled in the blanks and created its own religion...

The izlamonuts followed your religion's lead and later the Mormons were hot on your heals with their version...

Talk about reason and common sense; it makes not a lick of sense that God would have people write a bible that's filled with meaningless metaphors...How can that make sense to you??? Just think how different your religion would be if Origen wouldn't have duped you guys into throwing away most of the bible...

Why can’t I believe what I want to believe and you believe what you want to believe? I will never come to your point of view. Maybe you should start your own threads?
