Wow. I have seen him speak on the DivorceCare videos.
RIP...I am so sorry to hear this.
How the heck does a pilot hit a crane. Unless of course, he hit a bird.
That was my take, in the sense was it a construction crane in the upboom position, or did they hit a crane (bird).-Tom
“Crane” as in a bird, or as in a construction crane? (I’m not trying to be funny.)
Why would a construction crane be in the approach of the airport?
What was up? Reduced visibility scenario? IFR approach?
CC
If it was a building crane it would be specified in the NOTAMs. Location, height, etc. At least in the NOTAMs here in the US that I get. On the other hand, we four bird strikes on Friday night alone, so it could be either..
The article has been revised “Dr. Myles Munroe, the leader of Bahamas Faith Ministries, was killed Sunday when the plane he was in hit a construction crane, exploded and crashed in the Bahamas.” to add that it was a constuction crane.
It also notes, “The small plane crashed after hitting the crane in a shipyard on approach to the Grand Bahama Airport, according to officials there.” It sounds like the plane was very much off course.
“The internationally known motivational speaker had been on his way to Mondays Global Leadership Forum hosted by the Bahamas Faith Ministries, an organization Munroe founded, when his private Learjet crashed on approach to the Grand Bahamas International airport.”
Good question. And along the same lines, how would they know it was the other kind of crane? I would think what ever it was, it would be pretty mangled and beyond identification.
RIP.
I'm sure he is in good hands.
Prayers up for his friends and loved ones.
This should be the flight. It looks like there was some rain at the destination where the crash occurred.

Very sad news. I’ll be praying for all the families and their ministry.
Why was a snowplow on an active runway in Russia?
Third-world airports are just like that.
I’m a little bit late here but Forbes magazine has a great tribute to him along with some of his quotes. Though I was not very familiar with him, it sounds like his teachings were sound.

The world has lost a great man, he and the others in that crash will be in my thoughts and prayers.
