Rabbi Mark Kula and Imam Khalid Salahuddin are looking forward to attending church Sunday.
Yes, church.
The pair are two of several religious leaders who will take part in an interfaith service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Coral Gables Congregational Church, across from the Biltmore Hotel, at 3010 De Soto Blvd.
The fourth annual service, organized by MCCJ, formerly known as the Miami Coalition of Christians and Jews, is themed, Pursuing Peace: A Common Path.
What we see, what we believe, affects the way we interact with people, said Kula, of Bet Shira Congregation, a Conservative congregation in Pinecrest. If I believe we are all children of God then, fundamentally, we have something in common that compels us to find peace between one another.
Representatives from various faiths will take part in the free service, which will include an interfaith choir from several local congregations.
We want folks to know they are welcome here, said the Rev. Dr. Laurinda Laurie Hafner, senior pastor at the church. I think its great to bring the kids, and expose them to different music and cultures.
The service is the result of a partnership among the Archdiocese of Miami, Coalition of South Florida Muslim Communities, P.A.C.T (People Acting for Community Together), Faith in the City, the Rabbinical Association of Miami and South Florida Interfaith Worker Justice.
Although the MCCJ has been hosting interfaith dialogues for some 70 years, this particular event started as a way to mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a prayer session. It has kept the tradition going by holding an interfaith service at various houses of worship across the county once a year.
Its extremely inspirational and uplifting, said Roberta Shevin, the executive director of the MCCJ. Come and spend an hour and youll be glad you did.
What, no parachute? No bar? No lifeboat?
As many of you know, I have been paying attention to Islam for most of my life and study. Allah is not the God of Abraham.
Of course, you don’t need a college degree to tell you that.
Islam was founded by a child rapist, mass murderer., and liar when it came to honoring “ peace treaties “ he made — and he’s got millions of followers today, alas !
St. Matthew (LCMS) Lutheran, about a mile away in distance, as far as the east is from the west in the presentation of truth. And there are probably a hundred other nearby churches that could say the same thing.
Inert matter self-organizing and failing it's way into intelligence is supernatural.
If Jesus was here he would probably tear that church in name only down

It is a cult. It was founded by a violent man; it’s fundamental tenets are violent; it is base and worldly, not spiritual; it is militaristic. It is a totalitarian death cult.
Cults are still religions.
Sure. Don’t forget your quarters and new shoes.
Correction: It was founded by Lucifer himself.
Oh that's right, they've been deceived. It's a religion of peace. TM GWB
good one!
Honestly, I just don’t see Jesus condoning an “interfaith” service. I will have to answer for my sins..but so will so called “Christian” priests and reverends who do not try to spread the word of God but instead give legitimacy to false religions.
My husband got a Koran from the Saudi ARAMCO company for his years of work for ARAMCO. The company isn't ALLOWED to reward with money, cars, televisions, etc., so it gives the leaving ARAMCO employees a Koran.
I don't know — he did hang around society's detestable class (hookers and taxmen)… I think he might turn it on its head, showing people what God is like, just like he did when they confronted him with a woman caught in adultery, no?
I dunno. He seemed to be pretty straight forward when it came to worship and His Father’s house and stuff.
Three-way contradiction.
