Ct scan negative, they want MRI, need to be admitted for that, face still numb

ER as fast as you can.
I just went through a stroke...started as numbness in the fingers...then face...then I couldn't stand up.
tried to drive myself to the ER and got lost in my own hometown. Had the flag down a cop who called the ambulance and got me the help I needed.
Ischemic Stroke.
After a month of "cooling off" they opened up my left carotid artery and cleared it out. It was 80% occluded. The right one was 100% occluded and they won't touch it.
That was Memorial Day, this year.
I'm now 100% and riding daily...lifting weights. Dropped pounds and cigarettes.
Drink is minimal.
You Can survive just fine IF you get to a hospital.

Jim, if the imaging comes back negative for stroke and/or ischemia then have them check you for Lyme which can mimic stroke and Bells Palsy. About 10 years ago I got scanned for possible stroke because I had double vision in the middle of harvesting some oak trees for warmth. Scans were negative. ER docs sent me home. Went to my optometrist and he diagnosed the problem in two minutes. Doxy cleared up double vision in two days.
