Pope Francis, "If Mary is not your Mother, you are an orphan!"
Charisma News ^ | 9/5/2014 | Jennifer LeClaire

Posted on 09/11/2014 11:19:06 AM PDT by Jan_Sobieski

Pope Francis has been a breath of fresh air for many Catholics seeking greater liberty and a growing concern for conservative Christians who take issue with his comments about homosexuality and other cultural issues.

But the pontiff's latest statement is sparking an uproar from believers around the world. Pope Francis sent a tweet Tuesday that absolutely violates the truth of Scripture:

"The Christian who does not feel that the Virgin Mary is his or her mother is an orphan," Pope Francis tweeted.

As of the time I wrote this column it had been retweeted about 4,000 times and many of the responses were in appropriately unkind. It's not appropriate to attack the pope for his beliefs. It's more appropriate to share the truth...

Please show me where I brought up Easter in this thread. Surely you aren’t trying to cross thread again are you? And just where do you get off telling me what I know or don’t know. In these parts they call that making it personal.

Bless your little heart!

Interesting. When I resided in the Magnolia State I became quite familiar with that saying. Perhaps you'd like to spell out what it really means.

Vulgarity is the final refuge of the protestant. It coincides with their beliefs.

When they have no rational arguement or rebuttal they post silly pictures.

In the spirit of this thread I wish narses would post photos of severed body parts set apart for pagan rituals. Something festive like a gem encrusted skull.

How pathetic, how droll.

I am from MS. Vulgarity, my foot! I have never used “bad” language. My high school English teacher told us that showed a lack of intelligence. Neither did any of my teachers, friends or relatives. Bless your little heart. I see no point starting using that junk at age 70.

>>Are you saying that<<

I made no statement whatsoever about them. I simply was proving my statement that the Catholic Church admits that it incorporates paganism. So don't try to take me down some rabbit trail.

>>The Catholic Church believes in a rational God—unlike the Muslims, whose Allah is totally arbitrary and unpredictable.<<

The Catholic Catechism clearly states that the Muslims and Catholics serve the same god as was shown earlier in this thread.

Bout as good as the plastic idol on your dashboard, huh?

Wow. You know, it just hit me. How fickle the faith of a protestant. They are so obsessed with statues, rosaries, garments, pagan practices, Harry Potter you name it. They are so focused on externalities because they really have no faith in the power of Christ.

I guess it comes with treating Sacred Scripture like stereo instructions. Perhaps they should try living their faith instead of just reading about it.

I am always amazed at the misunderstanding of the Catholic Mass by people who don’t know what they are talking about, but the above statement is beyond stupid. Christ died ONCE, on the Cross. Catholics are reminded of it at each Mass. Catholics are NOT told Christ died every day since.

So communion is an act of remembrance after all.

Just like non-Catholics have been saying all along.

What? You don't believe in sanctification? You don't believe Jesus when he said He makes all things new? Is a protestant the same person when they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? Or perhaps they are a changed person?

Of course they're a changed person. They gave up paganism and idolatry, not incorporated it into the lives claiming that they're worshiping God by doing it.

“One Trick Pony?”

That’s amusing considering the accuser constantly posts silly pictures in lieu of any rational, arguement or rebuttal.

Come on narses, give me “The Yawn,” or how about “The Fractal?”

Let this poster tell you something. I live by faith. I lost one of my daughters in 2004. In May, 2006, my brother was found dead. In July, 2006, my husband died from liver cancer, 2 weeks later my bil died, and in January, 2007, my mom died. If it had not been for my faith in Jesus, I could not have made it. It has really, really been hard but with God’s help, I have made it. He is risen.

Okay. Then perhaps you'd like to use that intelligence now and acknowledge that as Catholics, we believe in Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist which makes us a religion that is centered on Christ. Despite your own personal interpretation of John 6. Can you give us that much at least?
