Magic Underwear & Magic Food

Mormons have some really weird beliefs. For example, many (all) Mormons believe they (males only) can take a cooking/salad oil, pour just a small drop on the crown of your head and their god will heal them of almost anything.

Mormons believe that by wearing ugly underwear bought from a specific company, their god will protect them from harm.

Mormons believe that by wearing a really weird looking costume they are taught secret ways to touch angels so after they die, the angels will let Mormons get into heaven quicker.

Mormons believe their god requires women to not wear outer clothing that covers their crotch (pants) to worship their god in a large and spacious room (chapel).

Mormons believe that a little torn piece of bread and a small sip of water that has been chanted over and then swallowed will require their god to forgive them for their sins.

Mormons believe by consuming certain foods and wearing funny looking clothes god loves them more than the rest of the humans.

It is the same with all parents. We love our children more or less depending upon how ugly their clothes are and how they consume small bits of food items.

The Mormon god must have a sense of humor watching his "SPECIAl" children called Mormons think this makes god love them the most.

“When Mormans fly planes into buildings, then I will worry about what they believe”

Noted.

When cults lead people to hell, I’m concerned about what they believe.

There should be a special forum for bigots.

There should be special forum for those who scream "bigotry" whenever something about them is criticized. Grow up.

Why single out Mormonism for your bash-fest? There are a lot of religions that believe some pretty strange things. If Mormons are so misguided, God will be their judge. I daresay He doesn’t need any help from you.

I'll take a street full of Mormon neighbors rather than one of atheists, leftist or muzzies any time.

My absence of any adherence to an organized religion gives me unique insight into bigotry. I will never understand the necessity of one christian religion to bash the beliefs of another christian religion. Want a list of strange christian religious beliefs/practices? I can list thousands. “Let he who is without sin”......

We are facing Murderous Islamic nonsense, and you are getting upset about a religion which I am not a part of, but in 2014 is composed of mostly decent honorable people (Harry Reid excluded)

The whole Shaker faith was a neat concept. A bit self limiting thru Darwinism, but still nice.

Quakers are sometimes a bit odd, but they built much of this nation during an important time in our industrial development.

Now if your ex wife or mother in law is a Mormon and you need to vent............just go ahead.

The difference is that he’s not “bashing” a Christian religion. He’s simply stating how Mormons and Christianity are different. (and yes, even I, a non-believer, would know that)

Who cares? They’re not the ones cutting people’s heads off, chasing Christians out of middle eastern cities, crucifying people and launching rockets into Jewish cities. If they want to have odd habits (like all religions) fine with me.

And who says they wear funny clothes? The Mormons I see are generally well dressed, well groomed and pretty good-looking. Which is one reason the gay community hates them - they’d like all those handsome blond boys on their team.

Oh, please. You’re all over the place bashing every religion not your own. I always think of you as Dr. Syn and then remember you’re Dr. Thorne.

People who are unsure of their own faith (or even know it to be false) are often the first to hate on another faith.

And FR is full of insecure little Mormon haters.

I feel the same. I grew up with a large Mormon population in our area. Socially and politically conservative, reliably patriotic and republican, which aligns with the general thrust of this Forum. So why bash their religion? They are not forcing the author of this thread to belong to it or believe in it. Freedom is about live and let live among people who will do the same.
