A Final Adios from DrSteveJ
From ksen | 07/30/2004 2:04:11 AM PDT read
DrSteveJ has finally used the last of his nine lives this evening. He has been banned, not suspended, for posting an NOAA gif.
Anyway, he has asked that you all be notified and told
Adios on his behalf.
If you need to email him he can be reached at
____@yahoo.com
Well folks, another one bites the dust.

Someone who joined 7 years ago has memories of someone banned 4 years earlier.
Hmmmm. We can all connect the dots on this one.
Wow! I can’t believe it has been that long.
Hahahahahahaha....snort!
I remember there was something about the authenticity of his Ordination. I can’t remember the exact time but I believe I had already been ordained a deacon (2002).
What does it mean to be a “Hyper-calvinist” anyway?
The first time I ever heard the term “Hyper” was when Dave Reagan accused Jody Dillow of being a Hyper-Calvinist.
(Reagan does not like the idea of eternal security, and he thought that Dillow was guilty of being double-plus-good on eternal security, hence the label.)
I gotta need to see “CalvinistDarkLord” graphic ...
Couldn’t find it on the ‘net, I guess Google doesn’t know quite yet everything.
Philip Johnson is a five-point Clvinist. The link below takes you to his web page that offers the best explanation I’ve ever read:

I really wish the term “calvinist” didn’t exist.....
I’d rather be known as a “predestinationist” - it’s a Biblical word.
Not likely. i never really posted it any place where i could call it up. However, if you go to This site and check for me, i'm pretty sure you can find it there as my avatar.
I can't believe it has been that long and I still remember where I was the day Dr. SteveJ was banned!!!
Ah....those were the days.....
Hyper-Calvinist is, for the most part, a made up term used solely to denigrate Reformers. And, yes, if God so desires to save the heathen in the White House, He will so do it-with or without our help.
What would you say about a Calvinist who said Billy Graham preached a false Gospel
“Whats unacceptable about a NOAA GIF?”
It can’t be too bad, that one from ten years ago is still banging away.
What would you say about a free will Arminian Independent Baptist who said that about Graham? What would you say about Billy Graham admitting to being a lifelong Democrat?
My opinion would be the same for both.
I would say Billy Graham is an illustration to the rest of us that no matter how we corrupt the divine word, God's holy truth will shine past our imperfect understanding to bring others to Him. That doesn't negate the fact that Billy Graham theology isn't wanting. He's not a Pope and I'm sure Billy Graham would be the first to tell you that.
I miss Michael Rivero
I’m curious; in what way do you believe that Billy Graham’s theology “is wanting?
1. God has indued the will of man, by nature, with liberty and the power to choose and to act upon his choice. This free will is neither forced, nor destined by any necessity of nature to do good or evil.
2. Man, in his state of innocency, had freedom and power to will and to do that which was good and well-pleasing to God, but he was unstable, so that he might fall from this condition.
3. Man, by his fall into a state of sin, has completely lost all ability of will to perform any of the spiritual good which accompanies salvation. As a natural man, he is altogether averse to spiritual good, and dead in sin. He is not able by his own strength to convert himself, or to prepare himself for conversion.
4. When God converts a sinner, and translates him into a state of grace, He frees him from his natural bondage to sin, and by grace alone He enables him freely to will and to do that which is spiritually good. But because of his remaining corruptions he does not only (or perfectly) will that which is good, but also wills that which is evil.
One cannot say a prayer or walk down an aisle without the Spirit enabling us. It is God that converts the sinner-not us-including us. It isn't "Just as I am". It's "Amazing Grace that saved a wretch like me".
Are you disagreeing with Spurgeon on “free will”?
