The St. George Utah Temple is the first temple where endowments for the dead were performed.
The Founding Fathers of the United States of America appeared twice to Wilford Woodruff in the St. George Utah Temple asking why their temple work had yet not been performed on their behalves. A striking painting depicting this singular event hangs in the temple lobby (That We May be Redeemed by Harold I. Hopkinson).

(And the worst thing about J. Reuben Clark’s pacifism was its timing...he was one of the top three Mormon leaders during WWII...and was still in that role during the Korean conflict)
Book of Mormon Third Nephi The Book of Nephi the Son of Nephi, Who Was the Son of Helaman
I’m sure there have been many mormons in our history, who have served in our country’s military but my thoughts on the matter always return to Willard Mitt, where nobody in his family ever served their country, going back many generations.
Now I see reports that he is making noises that he is planning another run. I take this quite seriously. Remember at the beginning of the last presidential primary season, when nobody on this forum (except a small group of mormons) thought that Romney had a chance at winning the nomination?
People were banned at F.R. for supporting Romney in the primaries and even for a while after he took the nomination.
It’s not over, we are not done dealing with Romney yet. I truly believe that Romney and his mormon supporters believe that it is his divine destiny to be president.
Mormons aren't Christian. Furthermore, there is no assertion whatsoever, let alone eyewitness testimony by participants in the events and observers to the events that the First Century Christians were dead drunk when they witnessed our risen Lord.
The Apostle Paul, who also heard and saw the dead Christ and said that by their fruits you shall know the followers of Christ, Mormon fruit looks pretty good. We could use a lot more of their fruits in this country right now.
Definitely not.
Before you repeat that statement, you need to look at some basic facts. From a modern perspective, the Saints aren't as godly as they claim. Historically, the Mormons of Joseph Smith's day engaged in (1) four named wars; (2) six Mormon civil wars; (3) dozens of Indian wars; (4) massive fraud and counterfeiting (e.g. Kirtland Safety Society Scandal); (5) mass murder (e.g. Mountain Meadows Massacre); (6) genocide (e.g. Bear River Massacre); (7) sexual perversion (e.g. polygamy and wife swapping); and much more. From the day of Mormonism's founding to the present time, its followers have engaged in numerous magic and occult practices, lies and deceptions, and other loathsome non-Christian practices. That's not a record to be proud of.
Next, take a few minutes (about 10) and watch this video where Shawn McCraney addresses the fruits of Mormonism argument and show how it completely misses the point.
Then ask yourself if Mormon fruit [still] looks pretty good, and we could use a lot more of their fruits in this country right now.
Somehow they never mention all of the other famous dead people who appeared to them.
Elvis, Tintin, FDR, Lincoln, the guy who killed Lincoln, The Maytag Repair Man, Hitler, Stalin, the Lone Ranger, Lenin (told them to keep Stalin out) and the “Don’t Squeeze the Charmin” guy....
Thanks for posting that link to the crucifixion of the Savior, as experienced by the inhabitants of the ancient americas.
Even as Matthew described in Jerusalem, but felt more forceful on the other side of the earth, “the earth did shake and the rocks rent.”
Or, as Nephi prophesied 600 years earlier, “And the rocks of the earth must rend; and because of the groanings of the earth, many of the kings of the isles of the sea shall be wrought upon by the Spirit of God, to exclaim: The God of nature suffers.”
Since I believe the Book of Mormon to be a gift to be cherished and not mocked, I will share what happened next, when the Savior visited and healed the more righteous that were spared.
I’m not going to spar with you, or anyone else here. You can do what you will. But I will share that these chapters, starting with what you posted and going through 3 Nephi are some of the most beautiful and profound words ever written by ancient prophets.
3 Nephi 11
8 And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them; and the eyes of the whole multitude were turned upon him, and they durst not open their mouths, even one to another, and wist not what it meant, for they thought it was an angel that had appeared unto them.
9 And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying:
10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.
12 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words the whole multitude fell to the earth; for they remembered that it had been prophesied among them that Christ should show himself unto them after his ascension into heaven.

We are good friends with both Mormons and ex-mormons. The ex-Mormons are now Christians, and very much against it. But, they do not speak ill of it either as the Mormonism is part of their cultural upbringing. Perhaps like someone bad-mouthing someone’s alcoholic uncle, where one will still stand up for their uncle.
Or perhaps someone bad-mouthing America because of our current administration.
Oh, that's funny!!
The Mormonism apologists take that passage out of its context and show they are more than willing to pervert scripture to defend their demonically inspired religion. The passage is given in regard to prophets and teachers. The mormonism apologists know that yet twist the scripture ... and therein is the revelation of from whom they do their works.
In the beginning, the head of the Gods called a council of the Gods; and they came together and concocted a plan to create the world and people it.
- Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., History of the Church, v. 6, pp. 307, 308
If we should take a million of worlds like this and number their particles, we should find that there are more Gods than there are particles of matter in those worlds.
- Apostle Orson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, v. 2, p. 345, February 18, 1855
Intelligent beings are organized to become Gods, even the sons of God, to dwell in the presence of the Gods, and become associated with the highest intelligencies [sic] that dwell in eternity.
- Prophet Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, v. 8, p. 160, September 2, 1860
[Jesus] by MARRYING MANY honorable WIVES himself, show to all future generations that HE approbated the PLURALITY OF WIVES under the Christian dispensation, as well as under the dispensation in which His Polygamist ancestors lived. (Mormon Apostle Pratt The Seer. page 172)
#1It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men....If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation, ( Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670)
Book of Mormon
The book of Mormon is more correct than the Bible, (History of the Church, 4:461).
God used to be a man on another planet, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 321; Joseph Smith, Times and Seasons, vol. 5, p. 613-614
There are many gods, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 163). And they (the Gods) said: Let there be light: and there was light, (Book of Abraham 4:3)
If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation [the context is the full gospel including exaltation to Godhood] outside the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (Mormon Doctrine, p. 670)
One of the most fallacious doctrines originated by Satan and propounded by man is that man is saved alone by the grace of God; that belief in Jesus Christ alone is all that is needed for salvation, (Miracle of Forgiveness, Spencer W. Kimball, p. 206)
Joe bragged he'd done more to hold the church together than Jesus did.
He was dead soon...
You should talk to the keepers at Utah State Penitentiary
Why?
Perhaps; But I'd bet MY money the OTHER way!
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.
Sorry, teppe; but this is about as 'christian' as the Mayan temples your chosen religion has glommed onto.
