1) I have no “fellow travelers”. That term is commonly reserved for left wingers and members of other irrational groups. It might qualify for Protestants of anti-Catholics, but not Catholics.

I disagree with a couple of points the author makes, and more importantly, I think Cardinal Cajetan and Cardinal Ximenes who reflected the view of the church of their day would have disagreed with his view that the varying canons were merely reflective of what was used in the liturgies of the different churches..
However, you did not answer my question, so I will ask it again. I was talking about 1 Macabees. How does quoting from the other deuterocanonical books prove the canonicity of I Maccabees as inspired Scripture?

In itself I never said it did. Why do you think the Eastern Orthodox accept 1 Maccabees as canonical?

Actually, no. My question is a much better one because it instantly shows that this is not merely a Protestants vs. Catholic issue.
