Mysterious Priest Performs Miracle at Site of Mercedes Crash

CENTER, MO. -- Rescue workers want to thank a higher power for coming to the rescue early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews spent an hour and a half trying to extricate a 19-year-old Quincy woman trapped in her in crushed car on Missouri 19 near Center, Mo.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Aaron Smith, 26, crossed the center line and struck Katie Lentz head-on.

Now, friends, family and those who rescued Lentz would love to find and thank a mysterious priest who they say helped make the rescue possible.

New London Fire Chief Raymond Reed said rescue crews spent the first 45 minutes after the accident trying to get Lentz out of a car to no avail Sunday morning shortly after 9 a.m. The metal on an older model Mercedes dulled the department's equipment.

"It was a very well-built car, and when you compact materials like that one, they become even stronger because you're cutting through multiple things instead of one layer," Reed said.

Reed says Lentz was pinned in between the steering wheel and the seat. After 45 minutes passed, medical workers told rescue crews that Katie was failing and fast. That's when Reed decided to move the car, which was standing on its side, back on all four wheels.

About an hour into the rescue, Katie asked rescue workers to pray out loud with her. That's when a priest appeared out of no where.

Where was the priest to prevent the DWI?

From the article:

"All along the way, her foremost request is for people to pray and to pray out loud," she said. "We would like nothing more than to carry that message forward for her."

I have just said a prayer for Katie Lenz, and I hope other Freepers will consider doing so as well.

Did they say how they knew it was a “Catholic” priest? The reason I ask is ministering angels have often appeared out of nowhere to accomplish miracles for the glory of God. Most of the time, they disappear as mysteriously as they appeared. I’ve had several such encounters and it has ALWAYS been done to bring glory to God and NOT the messenger.

I think it was an angel disguised as a priest.

Abraham greets three travelers outside his tent. One is the Lord, the other two, I have always believed were angels.

Yeah that’s the ticket. It’s the priests fault. He made the drunk driver do it.

Thank God for angels. The story on the news forum has more details about what the priest did — anointing and asking everyone to be calm and telling them their tools would work again.

That would make perfect sense to me.

“The Hannibal Fire Department showed up right after that prayer with fresh equipment and was able to finish the extrication.”

Doesn’t sound like much of a miracle to me. The one set of tools didn’t work, then they got another set and it worked.

Now if they prayed, and the door just fell off, that would be a miracle.

Having a Holy Connection does not mean that one is Omniscient.

“...how they knew it was a Catholic priest...”

A Catholic priest would have had the anointing healing oil that is blessed on Holy Saturday - I’m not sure, but don’t think other denominations use this oil.

Don't go there.

Whether it was a priest as an angel or an actual angel, he was an angel to all those and to Katie."

My money's on an angel.

Thanks for posting this wonderful story.

(BTW, if anyone is in need of a miraculous cure, and is looking for a healing priest, check out Fr. Aniello Salicone. I have met people who were miraculously healed of cancer by him, and have had him lay hands on me. He's the real deal. Unfortunately, he has a very limited web presence, but you can probably get in touch with him through the Fatima Shrine in Holliston, MA, or the Xaverian Brothers in Franklin, WI.)

Wow. My husband has stage 4 cancer and is going through a terrible time right now. We could use a healing for him, but we live in Florida and he can’t travel right now.

Thank you for the information though. It’s so nice to hear things like that. Please pray for my husband - his name is Don.

Other types of ministers use anointing oil in the prayer for the sick. It’s not just a Catholic “thing”.
