Why were you "run out of the Catholic Church"?

Because I interpreted Genesis 1-11 literally. Unlike with abortion, the Church made its dim view of that very clear.

Why don't you do a little study about what "ab initio temporis" actually means before you make another feeble attempt at guessing what I believe or what the Church teaches.

Why don't you show a little consistency and reject the magician who has been "interfering" in the natural order with "miracles" for the past two thousand years?

Okay, I know . . . those miracles are "intellectual," and Genesis is for "trailer trash."

Thank you for admitting that it is "un-Catholic" to interpret Genesis 1-11 literally. That is the lesson I learned.

Too bad the priests and the catechumenate program didn't tell me up front that I would have to believe in evolution. It would have saved me and them a lot of time and trouble.

The thing that I find sad is how Protestants fail to see how Catholics believe in all these quotations you mention, which are still in line with Catholic dogma. Maybe it’s because I had a Protestant father and a Catholic mother, but as a Catholic, I don’t see how these quotes you mention exclude the Catholic faith.I guess perhaps Protestants believe you can’t be condemned for your sins as long as you believe Christ is Savior. Catholics also believe any sinner can be saved as long as he or she repents. But the final decision is up to God.

If you want something odd, search for the word, Sedevacantism. Read Revelations Chapter 17, Apostle Paul warns of a great city that will be called Babylon in the end times. You might be interested in discovering what city was known as Babylon in his time.

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that the “accident of evolution” had created. “What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!” he said to himself. As he walked alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind Him. As he turned to look, he saw a seven-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw the bear closing in on him. He tried to run even faster, so scared that tears were coming to his eyes. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer.

His heart was pumping frantically as he tried to run even faster, but he tripped and fell on the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up and saw the bear right on top of him raising his paw to kill him.

At that instant he cried out “Oh, my God!” Just then, time stopped. The bear froze; the forest was silent; the river even stopped moving. A bright light shone upon the man, and a voice came out of the sky saying, “You deny my existence all of these years; teach others I don’t exist; even credit my creation to a cosmic accident, and now you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?”

The atheist, ever so proud, looked into the light and said, “It would be rather hypocritical to ask to be a Christian after all these years, but could you make the bear a Christian?”

“Very well,” said the voice. As the light went out, the river ran, the sounds of the forest continued, and the bear put his paw down. The bear then brought both paws together, bowed his head and said, “Lord, I thank you for this food, which I am about to receive…”

Why don't you stop playing your silly little word games and trying to catch the Church in some kind of "gotcha". Even if that were possible I doubt that you are clever or educated enough to pull it off.

I reject your premise that things must be either God created or natural because my omnipotent and ominous God created nature and all that is natural.

Many religions disagree with the beliefs of the Jews much like they disagree with one another. That is to be expected on "open" Religion Forum threads.

Atheists, for instance, agree with "none of the above."

Anti-Semitism is not simply a theological disagreement.

Are you sure you were not run out because you don’t believe that Jesus Christ is God?

Bkaycee is one of the sincere ones, like the ones who sincerely believe the errors they've been told about the Church. bkaycee, this is what I meant by a big difference between what people hate about the Church teachings and what The Church actually teaches.

I personally believe you are sincerely seeking Christ, but as I pointed out to you on another thread, do read what The Church actually believes instead of what others say the Church believes. A beautiful place to start is here ---> it's like what I told you on another thread that The Church does NOT teach that Salvation is by Faith and Works, that is an incorrect statement.
salvation can only come from Jesus Chris

God's Grace saves us, we cannot save ourselves. THAT is Church teaching.

thank you, I know that religions disagree with each other and that anti-semitism is deep, vile racism (as I pointed out), however, I asked Now if someone used the terms "Jews" in the religious sense that ZC uses for "Catholics" and said some of the things ZC said here against Catholics, would it be anti-Semitic?

like if someone said what ZC said "The ____ despises the simple people of rural America while celebrating pompous intellectuals and third world illiterates" -- and replaced the __ with "Jew" would that be considered anti-Semitic?

The ____ despises the simple people of rural America while celebrating pompous intellectuals and third world illiterates

If he had said that of Chinese, Cubans, Arabs, African-Americans, Jews, etc. - it would have been pulled as racism or anti-Semitism.

But not if said about a group of believers.

On "open" Religion Forum threads, the following statements (though tacky) are allowed: "Scientologists are crazy" "Mormons are irrational" "Protestants are going to hell" "Catholics despise simple people."

You've read me wrong ZC.

I should have been clearer,I didn't want to put a /s tag because I wasn't being sarcastic.

Me...fundies appear to be seen as..."

In other words this is how I perceive I and many others are being seen.
