Praise the Lord!

And, thanks for catching us up. “No discernible changes” is good especially if you have gone from every 3 months to every 6 scan.

Good luck with the remodel with your brother. Moving on is a good choice.

LOL on the nurse thingy.

p.s. sorry to hear about the other family members (and inlaw) cancer threats.

What a wonderful post to wake up to! Thank God for the miracle of your recovery.

Make sure you plant plenty of tomatoes, peppers and basil. Tomatoes and peppers are great for sharing with visitors, and basil goes with everything. If you plant more than you can give away, then can all three in the same jar and you can give them away later.

Medicare is willing to pay $1200 per dialysis session but not 3000 for a dialysis machine. What the...

Ain't that a kick in the teeth? Medicare will only rent, not help purchase, durable medical equipment. In your case less than 3 months rentals covers the purchase. In mine it was closer to 7 months rental. I will need the Oxygen pump and tanks and stuff for the rest of my life. I do not plan on checking out for some time. I can understand renting durable medical equipment for up to 6 months if needed. After that, it is cheaper to buy and be done with it. No wonder Medicare is so screwed up.

$1200 per dialysis session = $2400 per week. So 10 days worth of dialysis payments would pay for the machine, more or less (dialyzer filter, tubes, needles, etc.). It’s $100K per year for me and $150K per year for people who go three days per week.

HOORAY Petruchio! Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law, her brother, her brother-in-law, and your brother's long time friend...

...All things considered, it is better than the alternative.I feel better than I have for a while. Enough that this year I am planting a veggie garden.

Condolences to family and friends of the one who has passed.

Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.

Let it not be a death but completeness.

Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.

Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wingsover the nest.

Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the night.

Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your lastwords in silence.

I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.

"I think I am doing OK. "No discernible changes" is not an "ALL CLEAR", but it's close. I'm alive. I'm somewhat active. And I'm looking forward to lots of good things in the future."

Thinking back over everything you've been through reminds of all for which to give thanks and to know that each day of our lives is a precious gift.

Prayers for you to enjoy "lots of good things" for many years to come, Petruchio.

God bless.

Great news about the veggie garden...that’ll keep you outta mischief somewhat. You’ll have to keep us updated re the garden and the scans.

I planted tomatoes, peppers, basil and zucchini. The bunnies love the basil and the leaves on the pepper plants. The morning glories are hugging the tomatoes to death. I did get a couple zucchinis. One of them was so large, I made a casserole out of it, and fed a small crowd at a picnic. Luckily I have a neighbor who takes good care of his own garden, and keeps me supplied with the fruits of his labor. I think he does so out of pity, for I do have a pitiful garden. Not like your well-tended planting boxes. Well, at least my weeds are healthy.

GREAT looking garden you have there my friend. You are looking good to. Glad to see it.

My garden is doing well. I’ve started harvesting yellow squash and zucchini with tomatoes coming along nicely. I have a pumpkin plant that would like to take over the entire garden. Garlic is doing well as are the cucumber, peppers and broccoli and cauliflower. Tons of herbs and salad greens growing on the deck. I’m eating well. I’ve been looking for soy bean plants. Seems to be in short demand.

Thanks for the post and carry on.

It’s back. :(

The latest scan shows a lymph node in the chest has tripled in size in one year . . .

More scans are scheduled and they are talking about treating with chemo & radiation.
