Few people might be aware of this: There are passages in the Bible that coincide with scientific principles that weren't discovered by scientists until hundreds of years after the Bible had been written. Here are some examples:

Take for example our Lord Christ Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the foal of a donkey, prophecied in Zechariah 9:9, some 542 years before the event.

Lets take a look at your prophecy : )

9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king [a] comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

10 I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war-horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River [b] to the ends of the earth.

Is it just me or isn't verse 10 the important part of the prophecy? Anyone can and millions have ridden a donkey, bringing peace to the world would be a fulfillment of the prophecy.

Obviously Christ did not bring peace to the world. So in conclusion I am amazed (not) that your best fulfilled prophecy has not in fact been fulfilled.

It is the Prophecy of God as given by God the Holy Spirit to Zecharia. The first portion has been fulfilled. The Second Coming and the Millenial reign has not yet occurred.

LOL If Christ riding a donkey into town fulfills the prophecy in your mind, then I am happy for you : ) The 'prophecy' didn't even mention Christ by name. I wonder if there was a Jewish king after Zecharia that didn't fulfill that Prophecy? Donkeys were the royal means of transportation.

"b. A donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey: This seems to be a Hebrew expression of speech emphasizing that the animal is purebred - a truly magnificent, royal mount.

ii. “God had commanded the kings of Israel not to multiply horses. The kings who broke this command were miserable themselves, and scourgers to their people. Jesus came to fulfill the law. Had he in his title of king rode upon a horse, it would have been a breach of a positive command of God; therefore he rode upon an ass.” (Clarke)"

All the Kings of Israel rode asses : )

I will be free to travel the universe and perhaps even beyond into other dimensions at the speed of thought. Where will you be?

There, ahead of you.

?:
Could you please explain to the assembled what just ARE the advantages of being a heathen? I mean BESIDES the self-gratification of being the ‘smartest guy in the class’.

Answer:
I don’t know. Knowing the truth? Not being deluded? Not being a sheep? I suppose there are lots of reasons to not want to be ignorant.

Response:
The truth? You don’t even know what gravity is. No one does. We are fly specks trapped on this rock floating in space and will probably never get off it. (unless you believe in star gates or faster than light travel) The greatest human being that ever lived gave mankind The Truth. Indeed IS the Truth and was God incarnate. If this is ignorance then let me be ignorant. The Messiah tells us of a spiritual reality that is far greater and above and beyond the one we are trapped in in this life. I’ll take that as a greater truth than the flimsy science of this modern age.

Deluded? If Christians are deluded than they share that position with most of the greatest human beings who have ever lived. Along with The Apostles who know what they witnessed and spent their lives documenting it and passing it down to humanity. With your ‘modern science’ perspective all this looks delusional to you. You don’t have enough information to make that assesment.

Being a sheep: Better to be the sheep of the Shepherd of the Universe than a starving wolf with no eternal home. It might be better to reign in Hell than to serve in heaven if humans in fact WOULD reign in Hell. They won’t.

Being ignorant: We have access to all the same information you do. Personally I am not a ‘creationist’ of the sort that believes the earth is just 6000 years old. I accept what science can prove. Science does not disprove the existence of a ‘higher’ or set apart dimension which may or may not be correctly described by Christians as ‘spiritual’. I have the Word of Christ and all the Apostles and The Jewish Bible testifying to me that this is indeed the case. How can you call this ignorant? It is ignorant to label believers ignorant because they believe in MORE than you do.

If your wife asks you if she looks fat, what do you say?

You're supposed to pretend you didn't hear her.

The truth? You don’t even know what gravity is. No one does. We are fly specks trapped on this rock floating in space and will probably never get off it.

Actually we have a pretty good idea about what Gravity and Matter are. We just don't have all the details worked out yet : )

The greatest human being that ever lived gave mankind The Truth. Indeed IS the Truth and was God incarnate. If this is ignorance then let me be ignorant.

OK, be ignorant : )

...Personally I am not a ‘creationist’ of the sort that believes the earth is just 6000 years old. I accept what science can prove.

Which proves how ignorant you are : ) Science doesn't prove anything. All it does is disprove theories, it is called falsification if you haven't heard the term before. I am not certain why I am telling you this since you seem to delight in your ignorance.

Hmm, first you claim to be ignorant and now you claim that you aren't? Make up your mind, I can see why you are confused. You seem to feel that believing in Fairy Tales, Astrology, the Occult, the Bible, etc. etc. makes you less ignorant than someone who doesn't believe in those things. You might be right :) I don't have a clue about how to put a star chart together for an astrologist. As far as the occult goes, I think that they like to use virgins and I know what sky clad is, but that is about the extent of my knowledge.

Knowing the Truth is different from being ignorant. Knowing the Truth is powerful, it sets you free. I learned a long time ago that truth is simple and pure it is not complex. Anytime explanations get too complex and convoluted the truth is lost. So you may be correct, I am more ignorant than you, but at least I know what is real and true : )

Wow did you get off track.

Your ‘truth’ stinks. Your universe is small and your viewpoint is crippled. You are indeed just a biological accident with no cause, no future and no hope. When I encounter a mind like yours I wonder if Calvin might have been right.

Daniel gives the time to the exact date the Messiah should come several hundred years before the event. It may not be clear to you but it was crystal to faithful Jews at the time.

So, how many faithful Jews were there at the time of Jesus? Twelve?

I think the Jewish faithful would beg to differ. Especially considering that Christ didn't fulfill any of the prophecies that had been foretold of the Messiah.

I am still waiting to see how Daniel provided the exact date the Messiah would come. Are you avoiding giving the answer for some reason? LOL

Are there errors? Of course. It doesn't take a genius to look up "Biblical contradictions" on the internet and find a ton of them. Some are easily explained away, and others can't be.

Name me one?

I can give an answer for every contradiction you THINK is in the Bible.

There is not ONE!

Again, I challenge you to find just one contradiction in the Holy Scriptures!!!

I can give an answer for every contradiction you THINK is in the Bible.

I don't doubt that you can explain any contradiction to you fullest satisfaction.
The problem: other churches often have different explanations for the same - perceived - errors. Which one should I trust?
