Polls Apart: Schwarzenegger isn't as far behind as he seems

In a campaign as short as California's recall election, small events can have larger affects on the race. That seems to be happening with Los Angeles Times poll released on Sunday, which shows Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante with a 35% to 22% lead over Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger. The internal polls of both candidates have the race much closer, but those haven't been publicly released.

I think this LA Times poll was as slanted as the Field Poll.

If your pro-homosexual and pro-abortion, it tells me your moral compasss is broken. It is impossible to be a good leader without a good moral compass. I love the way RINO's are trying to convince us that you can be socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Its an oxymoron, because as soon as someone appeals to your flesh, you change your position, so you both "feel good", because you have no moral compass. That's why people like President Bush, President Reagan, and Senator McClintock are great leaders, and guys like Arnold S., Bill Clinton, and Jesse Jackson are not.

Quite a thougtful piece. There are no easy answers. One reason I have angst about Arnold, is that I wonder if he is a long distance runner. To put all one's eggs into the Arnold basket when he is so untested, until the last possible moment, strikes me as a risky scheme.

Look at the campaign through the politicians behavior, not the polls. If Gray Davis is still behind after Labor Day, you can really bid him a la hasta vista, baby. After next Monday, attention will turn to the three front runners in the race. Any one of them has a chance. If Large Breasts hasn't moved up to 45% by the close of the campaign, he won't be the next Governor. It'll be a race between Arnold and Tom. Either one of them could get the bulk of Republican votes. In spite of what the Los Angeles Times says, one poll does not define the rest of the campaign. Everything right now is still up for grabs even though Davis probably will be histoire.

I'm a McClintock supporter, but I'm getting tired of his Arnold bashing. He is starting to sound too much like a cry baby.I don't give a crap what he thinks of Arnold, and he sounds like a democrat when he whines about Arnold being rich.

Why was it ever so Bad for Democrats to be for Clinton because he did a good job with the economy even though Clinton believed it was Ok to have oral sex with an intern, and so Good for Republicans to be for Arnie because he will do good with the economy even though Arnie supports killing unborn babies?

This poll was conducted in the heart of San Francisco among 278 Democrats.

Sharp insight... yes it gets to the heart of the McClintock argument. How many Republicans would have approved of Clinton had he been GOP? Most of them, apparently.

strikes me as a risky scheme.

I am "deeply saddened"TM.....

and “deeply concerned”TM….

that you are not playing by the rules here.

Actually, I am shocked. You must be part of the “VRWC”TM ….

Surely, any “Village of Idiots”TM would know that one can’t use the opponents playbook and terms without giving credit where credit is due.

Fair is fair, right? 1.

Risky SchemeTM is a ‘Rat phrase – we can’t use it.

We have to play fair with the Dim Ones, ok?

LVM

All TM’s registered to the political party of the whining ass baby – the DemoRats.

1. As long as I can say anything I want about you but if you say anything bad about me, then I have the right to call you a racist, big oil, “keep the little man down”, kill the old people, then keep their SSAN benefits, fag / lezbo hating pig.

So as I get it, the Schwarzenegger Poll Jockeys state that McClintock must drop out of the race based on his standing in the polls -- however, they also claim that these same polls, which show Arnie falling behind, are deeply flawed or even corrupt.

Gotcha.

Clinton didn't do $hit with the economy - except 'cook the books' by overstating the GDP by a total of 30%. That's one hell of a bubble. Oh yeah, he also managed to change the accounting rules to place the Social Security funds into the 'lockbox' but also account for it in the general fund. That is the ENTIRE reason that we showed a 'surplus' that never existed. All for his financial legacy. Excellent job by Clinton. Yeah, right.

Now, as you were saying about the Clinton economy? (Or should I say DemonRat dogma?) You actually believe that crap?

There are no easy answers

Yes there is.

The Los Angeles Times lies.

Won't be the first or the last time that the Times lied on a poll. No slanting. Just plain fabrication.

1) Clinton didn't support anything good for the economy. Anything good was accomplished in spite of him, not because of him. Remember he supported and enacted tax increases. That's not good for the economy.

2) Clinton was not impeached for having sex with an intern. He was impeached for obstructing justice and lying during an investigation of sexual harassment that the supreme court said by a 9-0 margin was a legitimate lawsuit.
