And another possible [very] early man site. I toured this site during my stay in Barstow/Daggett earlier this year.

Your book sounds like it would be a fun read for those who like sci-fi. (Pinging blam to make sure he sees the link ... http://www.1stbooks.com/bookview/15444) I'll pass the link to my baby son. He might like to read it.

We have a thread on the Calico site.

Very interesting thread, blam.

I have a friend who has collected some artifacts off of his property and would like to know their age. Is the cost of carbon dating prohibitive?

"Sorry, don't know."

Thanks anyway.

I've suggested to my friend that he should send a couple of samples to a university that has an archaeology(sp?) department. But he is hesitant. I don't blame him.

Excellent read if older. I have two cousins that were adopted in the early 60's from an Indian tribe in Alaska. One has blond hair, blue eyes, and is now 6'4" tall; the other one has dark hair, brown eyes, and is about 5'7" tall.

The older one looks European, the younger one looks very Native American, yet both are 100 American Indian with the rights that go along with that.

My father, a geologist by education, said after that adoption, that the Siberia to Alaska, then south and east migration was not right. He suggest the boat theory with folks from all over the world arriving here throughout human history made more sense.

I always thought my dad was just, well, not ahead of his time, but just nuts. Well, well, he may be proved right yet.

Sorry I did not listen to more of his theories while he was on this earth.
