JUST USEFUL IDIOTS ???

Recent anti-American protests around the world prompted many to ask, who are these protesters? Overseas they are organized and controlled by various self-styled Communist groups that are dedicated to the overthrow of the US. But who are the US protesters? Simply put they are "activists", fellow travelers, appeasers, and useful idiots.

First there are the activists. If you notice, whenever the Left calls for a protest – all the leftwing organizations show up. Regardless of the cause, you will see groups representing NOW, GLOBAL, PETA, NARAL, NAMBLA, Earth First and maybe another dozen or so other associated radical groups. An astute observer may ask, what do Gays, Lesbians, abortion advocates, radical feminist, eco-nuts, and perverts have in common? On the surface there is very little in common. But in reality they all support each others causes. None of these groups could muster any significant crowd on their own – but when you include their combined memberships and gullible followers, a significant crown can be gathered. Proof of this can be seen when you look at the signs these protesters carry. For example - what does ‘Gay Pride’ and ‘Save the Whales’ have to do with the pending war on Iraq?

"I can hear the wails of many of the Santa Cruz folks that participated in the recent anti-war protests. They will claim that they are concerned citizens, not tools of the Left. But if they marched in a protest without knowing that anti-American Socialists organized the protest they exposed their collective ignorance. This is why they are called ‘useful idiots’."

Excellent stuff....

The Santa Cruzians miss Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, and any excuse to get together in a commune-like atmosphere is embraced most enthusiasically.

The problem with the left is that they have been anti-American ever since MLK and Bobby Kennedy were assassinated. They don't know any better but if they could ever get back to the patriotism that permeated the leftist protests prior to 1968, they might be able to offer a viable alternative. Otherwise, it is hard to take them very seriously.

I have nothing against these protesters, and in fact, encourage them to hurry to Baghdad to act as "human shields". Time is of the essense.

I agree, and the best part is that we can kill two birds with one stone (forgive the pun). The Bush administration seeks to charge Saddam with war crimes for deaths related to activating human sheilds....Including non Iraqis. Saddam, that rat bast#@d, will be responsible for those pathetic lives that will be lost during the next battle....It makes sense to make Saddam's regime responsible because those "human sheilds" obviously can't think logically on their own.

I'm not for delaying the war but I hope that these mentally challanged people get an "experience". An experience from Saddam or one of the rear guard that will leave them shaking in their boots.
Perhaps one of them will expect the freedoms that we have here that they don't have in Iraq. Won't that be a shock to their delicate system. No nighttime shopping trips in Bagdad. Or perhaps they can go to a nightclub with Saddam's son Odai whom is renoun for his rape methods.

I've heard a lot of vague whispers about who International ANSWER actually is, but no hard facts.

Has anyone done some digging and found out the truth, with visible evidence?

I'm satisfied that there are some really twisted, evil people behind it, but I'd like to know more about them and what the organization is actually trying to accomplish.

All they are say-ing...is give terrorism a chance.

The "peace" movement has been planned, orchestrated and 100% operated until recently by the Worker's World Party, a neo-Stalinist bunch centered in New York City, now having branches in every campus in the Nation. The media have known this from the start but gull us all by presenting demonstrations as grass-roots affairs - nuns, schoolchildren, grandmothers, etc. The WWP pulls in the gulled and gulible and wraps them around themselves as cover for the hard-line at the core. About 3 weeks prior to the most recent show and tell, Todd Gitlin, former president of SDS was given nearly an hour on PBS to complain about the leadership of WWP and the need for a more representative leader (himself) to provide necessary credibility to the "movement".

Know Thy Fellow Protester
By Jonathan Lewis

As thousands massed in cities across the U.S. and Europe this past weekend to protest a possible U.S.-led war against Iraq, many anti-war protesters found themselves surprised and somewhat dismayed by the wide-ranging agendas and causes represented by many of their fellow protesters.

Anti-war activists touted this diversity as proof of the broad opposition to President Bush's stance on Iraq. But in truth, the majority of these "diverse" groups are really using the anti-war protests as a platform to further causes as far-ranging as anti-globalization and anti-capitalism to Gay Rights, Anarchy, and anti-Semitism.

While dissent does not necessarily make one un-American, a closer examination of many of these "anti-war" groups reveals a vision for America that the masses would neither recognize, nor want.

Many are openly connected to the Communist and Socialist parties and seek every opportunity to criticize the U.S. They oppose not only the current U.S. administration, but the very principles and foundations that America was built upon.

For example, the co-sponsor of the San Francisco rally is a group called International ANSWER which is closely linked to the extreme left-wing Workers World Party, whose stated goal is "solidarity of all the workers and the oppressed against the imperialist system."

Richard Becker the leader of International ANSWER, and a "party leader" in the Workers World Party vigorously supports Communist China and Kim Jong II's regime in North Korea, and defends the likes of Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic; the Yugoslav war criminal on trial at the Hague for genocide.

Of course anyone who mentions anti-war protesters and communism in same breath is immediately accused of McCarthyism or red-baiting, but all one has to do is go to the ANSWER or STOP THE WAR (UK rally sponsor) websites and follow the links to their "coalition partners" to see the facts. There is no need for allegations, as these groups openly tout their causes.

Some of the more revealing links on the International ANSWER website include:

  • The Anti-Imperialist League - a pro-communist China and North Korea organization which publishes English language translations of the "Chinese People's Daily" and articles praising the "Chinese People's Volunteers great victory over U.S. aggression in the Korean War."

  • The International Action Center - Ramsey Clark's group, who accuses the U.S. of war crimes against North Korea and Iraq, and supports former Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic and Castro's Communist Cuba.

  • BANYAN - who supports the Communist Party of the Philippines, Filipino terrorist groups, and calls for the overthrow of the Philippine Government.

  • Raise the Fist - advocates Anarchy and violence. The groups leader is currently facing criminal charges for the distribution of information related to building explosives and weapons of mass destruction. The website proudly claims that 2,000 of their supporters broke away from last months rally in San Francisco and broke windows at the local INS office.

Other co-sponsors of the San Francisco rally included, United For Peace, Not in Our Name, and Bay Area United Against War. Their supporters range from the American Atheists to the Freedom Socialist Party and includes many of Hollywood's elite.

Across the pond in the UK, STOP THE WAR (formed in September 2001 to protest U.S. military action in Afghanistan) is part of the anti-globalist movement that rejects the war with Iraq as part of their opposition to free-market capitalism. Their supporters include:

  • Socialist Workers Party - anti-democracy, anti-capitalist, who are against the war in Iraq, yet are committed to violent revolution. During the Gulf war of 1991, the SWP actually called for victory for Saddam Hussein over the allied coalition.

  • Anarchist Youth Network (UK and Ireland) - Seeks to abolish the State and all institutions of government. Promotes books and articles calling for armed revolt.

  • Numerous radical Islamic Groups and Communist organizations including the Revolutionary Marxist Group, Communist Party of Britain, Revolutionary Socialist League, Socialist Party, Young Muslims-UK, and the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

If there is a common theme to be found among the ANSWER and STOP THE WAR coalitions, its anti-democracy and anti-capitalism. In Europe, the Communist and Socialist Party's mobilized their supporters in mass for this past weekends "anti-war" rallies. A majority of these anti-war protesters are the same people that regularly march in the anti-globalization rallies.

Another common theme to the anti-war protests is little to no criticism of Saddam Hussein. You hear no speeches calling for him to abandon his weapons of mass destruction and no outrage over his human rights abuses. Which truly reveals the disingenuous nature behind much of this "anti-war" movement."

None of these groups can claim they are protesting in the name of the Iraqi people. Not while Iraqis continue to live under Saddam Hussein's repressive regime whose military and security forces are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens.

It seems we have a great deal of citizens in this country who feel that freedom is a right, not a privilege. They feel they are entitiled to it with no sacrifice or responsibility.

OMG! Take Lewis' advice and check out their affiliates. Among others, we have the Korea Truth Commission. It sounded so Orwellian that I did a web search for the organization and found this gem.

I had thought International ANSWER sounded distinctly North Korean ... there's your smoking gun!

Thanks, Ron :-).

The average protester in the streets is a useful idiot. But the other, more pressing problem for the country is the class of liberal politicians who take advantage of the discord to advance their own personal agendas and assent to power.

The useful idiot on the street is in denial of reality that good and evil actually exist in the world, and they are trying to go retro to a time when they didn't have to worry about terror threats, their personal security, or the security of the country. The useful idiot is in denial because threats to personal and national security are constants throughout history, like during the Cold War, or during the period of rising nationalism in the early 20th C. These people blame America first because it is easier to label the strongest and wealthiest country in the world as the problem than it is to actually identify the complexities of good and evil manifest in the relations between different peoples of the world. These people believe essentially in the false concept of an over-riding humanism that links all people's of the world together. The question is this the success of the socialist/communist agenda/indoctrination, or the failure of our own educational system? Could this world view be the product of the nacent narcissism related to American material success in the last half of the 20th C.?

The average protester in the street is wholly misinformed, and literally prefers an ostrich-with-head-in the-sand approach to the problems currently facing our country. These idiots just want the problems (i.e., impending war with Iraq and the war on terror generally) to go away so they can feel safe again - even if such safety is a figment of their imagination or the product of their own wishful thinking.

Totally in line with you...excellent post. Even with all this, George W. Bush takes the high road by reminding the useful idiots that their ability to protest in such a fashion showcases the degree of FREEDOM Americans have, and highlights that essence of our god blessed constitution. What a guy.

The same could be said of the "groups" protesting the Florida recounts (there were protests in other states).

Even before George W. Bush had been certified the winner, the left wing extremists had banded together in common cause against GW. Of course of these socialists had voted for Algore to begin with they may not have had President Bush to kick around.

Some who sign onto the leftist organizations (say against animal cruelty) slowly get indoctrinated (against meat, in support of the homosexual members' rights, etc.). Freedom of thought is not permitted. The positions on the issues have been decided (this is what political correctness refers to; the left tried to say that it was what the society tolerated under the current administration).

INteresting post, Thanks. I have also found members of this group to be almost pathologically conflict averse. Any sign of conflict is taken as a sign that they are bad. "Good People" or "Good countries" do not have conflicts with other people or countries. Therefore we are at fault. Couple confict aversion with the denial of evil and you have the useful idiot.
