WASHINGTON, Feb. 20 — A 1.8-million-year-old jawbone and other fossils uncovered in Tanzania’s Olduvai Gorge have reignited a longstanding controversy about the family tree of humankind’s earliest ancestors. At the same time, the finds offer a new look at how and where early humans lived, according to a study in the journal Science, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Official ping.

[This ping list is for the evolution -- not creationism -- side of evolution threads, and sometimes for other science topics. To be added (or dropped), let me know via freepmail.]

This is obviously one of those discoveries that completely disproves evolution, adding to everything else discovered in the last 140 years.

Isn't it weird how creationists believe a book more than they believe the actual universe?

I mean, if they believe (as I do) that God created the universe, why don't they believe the universe? Anybody with eyes can see that the universe is evolving.

Based on the posts on FR by creationists, I think it's a lack of imagination or curiosity. And I also believe that they disrespect God's wonderful creation.

I should add that not only is the physical universe evolving, but life on earth is evolving, too. Different processes, of course.

I propose a compose to the Creation vs. Evolution debates.

1. Let's agree that all Democrats, liberals, and French wussies evolved from pond scum.
2. Let's agree that all (non-RINO) Republicans and conservatives have divine origins.

Any takers?

Based on the posts on FR by creationists, I think it's a lack of imagination or curiosity.

While I don't believe in a diety, and you do, you and I agree 100% on this point. I've made it before... creationists have displayed over and over again a monumental and fundamental lack of curiousity. It really is quite odd to me. However, as later posts will bear out, they do have quite a bit of imagination. (bondserv is the reighning king, with his/her strange preoccupation with the "Mt. St. Helens and grand canyon were formed the same way" idea.)

1. Let's agree that all Democrats, liberals, and French wussies have not yet evolved from beyond pond scum.

What evolution is ---

the missing piece to the puzzle --- that fits -- adjusts to any hole .. .. ..

no matter the size -- configuration ...

vomit // puke an answer -- solution !

1st you carve the answer -- then create the question // puzzle ...
