FREEP the TakeBackTheMedia.com campaign against Rush Limbaugh's advertisers!!!
Posted on 01/30/2003 12:48:38 PM PST by Arch-Conservative
"TakeBackTheMedia.com" is mounting a campaign against the advertisers of the Rush Limbaugh Radio Show. They have apparently been somewhat successful in their campaign, because no advertisements are running on RushLimbaugh.com, and RadioShack and others have withdrawn advertisements from the show.
It is time to make it known just how prominent, numerous, and wealthy the Rush Limbaugh audience is!! Call the companies, send emails, let them know that we appreciate them supporting shows of such high value as Rush's.
Let them know that we will boycott those that withdraw sponsorship. Go to the takebackthemedia.com website for a list of advertisers, phone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information.
**Apparently we've been hit by the people at takebackthemedia.com before - so freerepublic won't let me post a link.
Take Back "takebackthemedia.com"!!
Cordially, ADE

Remember, no ads have EVER aired on RushLimbaugh.com. He plays parodies during those breaks. AM and FM stations play the commercialls.

I really can't think of a person who went to radio shack due to a commercial during the Rush show and then actually spent money there.

I was speaking of the banner advertisements on the top of the web-page. I am aware that neither the DittoCam, or the audio link plays advertisments.

There seems to be a lot more to this than meets the eye. I hope Rush doesn't cave in.

Will e-mail them tonight. :)

RadioShack and others have withdrawn advertisements from the show. How do you know this? Are you sure Radio Shack quit advertising because of the anti-Rush campaign or because their Christmas advertising was over? Who are the "others" you refer to that have withdrawn from the show?

also, another little factor, if you read their 10-K's you'll find RadioShack doesn't have any money to pay for advertising.

I want to thank the folks at TakeBackTheMedia.com for providing a list of companies I
will patronize (
not in the liberal sense of that word!). Conversely, if the ad disappears, so will my patronage. Let the seller beware!
BTW, we haven't completed taking it back yet, but we're FReeping our way to regaining control soon! Go Fox, go Rush!

Time to email Liberal media sponsors with boycott letters, although he really only has a handfull of audience, lets start with Phil D.. Anyone have a list of his sponsors? NYTimes anyone?

Sorry about the mis-intrepretation. I will support this Freep, as I am an eleven year listener to Rush.

"hope Rush doesn't cave in"
Rush ... cave-in! Cannot even contemplate the use of those words in the same sentance.
Remember one thing - PEOPLE ARE LINED UP TO GET COMMERCIAL TIME ON RUSH's PROGRAM - IF SOME OF THEM DROP OFF - THERE ARE PROBABLY HUNDREDS WAITING TO TAKE THEIR PLACE.
However, sending a thank you to those who are advertisers, is not a bad idea.
However, we already have a thread on FR with all that info on it - so no one is required to go to the enemy's website for the info. - just search for a thread "Ads - Rush Limbaugh" and you find the thread - see post #39.

All Rush has to do is mention this on his radio program, and their efforts are doomed. The ratio of listener:liberalfreakazoid is too great.

The site that is behind this appears to be registered to someone named Julie Sigwart of "Happy Chaos". Her contact info is the same address that donations for 'TakeBacktheMedia' can be sent to.
If you look at her site info, it has an "about the cartoonist" category--but when you click on it, Michael Stinson's pic comes up. Obviously they have some kind of relationship.
I was a put off by the fact that TBTM solicits donations using a bastardized image of the IwoJima statue and by the fact that if you look at their sponsors--they are all radical leftists.
The list of apparent enemies ("Bought Thought") includes CBS (who ran something about TBTM v. Rush), Drudge, and many others. I didn't notice FR though.
This just reeks of leftism.

I did search a bunch of combinations of keywords, because I figured other people might be following this subject also. Obviously I don't know much about how to make FR work, so thanks for the help.

I quit shopping at Radio Shack years ago because they ALWAYS asked for my name and address. I did see a notice lately where they are dropping this detestible requirement. Too bad. In the interim, I have found other places to shop.
