The Senate's second-ranking Democrat criticized President Bush yesterday for honoring Confederate soldiers with wreaths the last two Memorial Days, calling it "racially motivated" and another example of opposition to civil rights.

Sen. Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, cited a Time magazine report that said Mr. Bush two years ago renewed a practice of sending a wreath to the Confederate Monument at Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day. The Washington Times reported that wreath-laying at the time.

The Wlat brigade praised marxist homo Ed Sebesta's rabid south bashing. I'm sure they'll be along any minute to praise leftist Democrat Harry Reid for the same thing.

Then again, what else should we expect from a Bill Clinton voter and his minions?

I saw a leftist author on one of the CSpans late last night (didn't catch her name) who was asked about Butler's order. Even she admitted 'women of the town' meant prostitution. Sorry Walt, even the lefties don't agree with you. And we're supposed to honor men like that over the brave foot soldiers who died bravely for their country? Not to mention the hundreds of other heinous crimes done by Sherman and his thugs. I suggest someone in the media ask Harry Reid how honoring murderers, rapists, arsonists, and thieves is better than honoring men who were just trying to defend their homes

Even she admitted 'women of the town' meant prostitution.

Judging by the activities that prompted the order, being labeled a hooker was a step up in status. IMHO, of course.

Still, the Democrats are going to try and milk this issue for all it's worth. Look at the map. I think that they are writing off the south and hoping to use this issue to energize their base in states like Ohio that they lost in the last election. If they can keep the states that they won last time and add Ohio then they have the 2004 election sewn up.

Looks like the cornerstone of the left's campaign is slamming the Confederate Battle Flag. At some point, they've got to dismount that dead horse.

That'll play real well here in the South!

Those he honored are Civil War DEAD!
I guess Reid is saying don't honor any
DEAD if they weren't Union, or you are
racist.

Hear that, Southerners? Reid says do
not honor DEAD relatives of the CW,
or you are racist!

Reid is trying to surpass Daschle for
PURE VILE-NESS.

Makes me feel like throwing up.

Thanks for the ping, SB.

Our 'resident Yankee', Phantom Lord, said almost exactly the same thing as over on the NC board.

PL:
"Question #1 to all of the RAT candidates running for president is their position on the Confederate flag.
It is the most important and pressing issue of the day.
And they wonder why they are getting their a$$es handed to them."

As the descendant of not one, but several Confederate soldiers, I am getting weary of all of this South-bashing.
When even Northerners realize the Dems are kowtowing to the NAACP about this, you know the Jackass Party is dead in the water.

Well, I live in SW Ohio and the Dems don't have a chance in hell here. I have my American Flag in my front yard, my rebel flag in my garage, and a big middle finger to all those who don't like it.

The democrats are trying to ensure their party's place in the history books, right along side the Whig party.

Good for Dubya....I hope he doesn't fold. Some wise words about honouring ALL our nations dead military men would be appropriate and might send a voice of reason out to quell this extortion racket.

Edwards ...even though a Dem...ought to be ashamed of himself.
