Protest Groups Just As Whacked Out As The WCOC

I found out a little bit about the groups coming to protest the gathering of the white supremacists. One of them is called the Anti-Racist Action, and have been often violent during other protests of WCOC rallies. Another of these groups is the Progressive Labor Party--and they are staunch Communists! May I ask what the HE!! is going on?????

The ARA is calling for members to "converge" (their word, not mine) on Lewiston and shut down the WCOC gathering. I wonder how they propose to do this? Could it be.....rioting?

There will be more police on hand in Lewiston for this rally than any other time in the cities HISTORY. This is shaping up to be a very volatile situation. I am thinking about watching from a distance just to see what goes on--anybody else?

I think these groups enjoy a working relationship at the leadership level. They put on a show for the media so the media would tell the public about "growing racial tensions."

I think you are exactly right. Putting all the spotlight on "racial tension" undermines the legitimate gripes by Maine citizens--like tax increases.

What fries my arse is these groups coming here and causing problems aren't even from here. Neither one understands what is really going on. The problem here is not about color, unless that color is green.

I wonder what Jan. 11th will bring.

Nature seems to be doing us a favor in that it's supposed to be about 5 dgrs. tomorrow, and certain folks who are not from around here (as well as a few who are) do not deal with such biting cold all that well.

The increased revenue from food, motels, etc. could actually boost Lewiston's economy, and they may decide to host an annual riot to commemerate the occasion.

Tourism is about all that's floating this State's economic boat right now, and we can't rely on skiing alone to keep the tourists coming to spend money in the off-season, can we?
