Liberals: Attack Everyone But Saddam

Posted on 01/01/2003 3:59:11 AM PST by traditio

I saw Allan Colmes (the liberal on Fox’s Hannity and Colmes) complain that Bush was insufficiently vigorous in combating North Korea. Clinton, he said, had a policy of attacking North Korea by air if they kicked the nuclear inspectors out, but Bush let them do it with impunity. Of course, if there were an immediate prospect that Bush were going to attack North Korea, Colmes would be screaming about unilateralism or preemption or whatever. Liberals seem for any military action except the one we’re about to carry out. So the liberals get to sound hawkish for free.

Maybe we should bomb North Korea, but the immediate result would be mass slaughter. That the liberals don’t mention. An attack on North Korea would result in far more deaths than an attack on Iraq, even if North Korea turned out not to have nuclear weapons or decided not to use them. The North Koreans would devastate South Korean urban areas close to the DMZ, and in the chaos the already starving peasantry of North Korea would likely die in massive numbers. We would take more casualties than we will take in Iraq. That’s what the Democrats are so cavalierly advocating. Since nothing in their past points to support for such an action, it is obviously sheer opportunism on their part.

The silver lining is that the Democrats are putting themselves on record for military action in Korea, so they will look more ridiculous than ever if Bush decides that we have to confront North Korea and they revert to their habitual excuses-for-our-enemies posture that they have adopted in Iraq. Indeed, Colmes blamed Bush for allegedly breaking our agreement with North Korea at the same time he advocated bombing North Korea. The North Koreans are innocent, but bomb them anyway!

I saw another liberal demand that we put our forces on the Canadian border. If Bush actually did that, the liberals would howl. The Democrat’s motto is, “Attack anyone but Iraq—but not really.” What monsters.

The more I see who is trying to protect Saddam, the more obvious it becomes he needs to go. Don't think for a second that N. Korea isn't acting up for any other reason than to try to keep their buddy in Iraq in power.

If you have no ideas of your own then you can become a critic of all ideas proposed by Bush, it is much easier than having to think.

The Democrat’s motto is, “Attack anyone but Iraq—but not really.”
Liberalism is cynicism.

Look at it this way: journalism is the business of attracting attention with topical nonfiction. Journalists do that primarily by scaring us with superficial and negative reports. Liberals are simply politicians who sail with the wind of that propaganda barrage. They are cynical because journalism is negative and superficial--and cynicism is simply superficial negativity.

A little OT -- but I was watching a news report about thousands of S. Korean's protesting in the street against the US presence in their country, and the the US should just go home.

Obviously these idiots have no idea what is across the DMZ... or IMHO, it's just politics. These same people, if attacked, would be crying and screaming for us to help them out.

The new S.Korean president ran on a platform of limiting the troops in the country as well. I would love to have our admin tell these bozo's - OK were outta here... then see how much they need us to protect their whiney butts.

Dems and their minions don't care one whit about consistency in logic.

But...but...I thought journalists were so much smarter and more enlightened than the rest of us mere mortals.

I was incensed after watching a news report on NBC last evening. How the hell did any Korean war vet feel watching punks beating on U.S. troops at a base gate? I'll tell you what I would do:

1. In the dark of night, airlift everyone of the military out of South Korea.

2. Rig every building on every military building with explosives and detonate when the last US aircraft cleared Korean airspace.

3. Place an embargo on Korean products sold in the US.

4. Freeze and confiscate Korean assets in US banks as "reparations" for the billions we have spent there since the late 1940's.

5. As the aircraft climb out of South Korea, order every G.I. on board to give 'em the proverbial finger.

S#$%& them and the horse they rode in on.

I agree. However, MOST of our fellow Americans have a weak memory. They can't remember what they had for breakfast. So, this is a moot point. It doesn't matter what is said TODAY, because the left will shout their lies loudly, and often. Kinda like Hitler, no??

I would love to see a flow diagram of the left's arguments. I imagine it would look like a circle. Bush does "this" say "that." Bush does "that" say "this." If we could only harvest electricity from the lefts flip-flops we could replace all the old power plants and provide free power to the world.

I keep hearing this since the Rapist's supposed revelation 2 weeks ago, but have seen not a shred of evidence to support this? NSC directives? Confirmation from Congressional sources? NOTHING.

In other words, this is yet another lie to deceive historians who are waiting with their knives for this knave to expire.

I remember we had to use fire hoses to keep protesters out of a US Base one time and they even killed a few of their own trying to get on the base. This was back in 1985 so this isn't anything new going on right now !
