After Sen. Tom Daschle, South Dakota Democrat, created a stir by attacking Rush Limbaugh and other conservative voices in the media as somehow responsible for death threats to politicians like himself, his total absence of any evidence made him look ridiculous.

According the former vice president, "something will start at the Republican National Committee, inside the building, and it will explode the next day on the right-wing talk-show network and on Fox News and in the newspapers that play this game, The Washington Times and the others."

Hey Al, it's called the INTERNET. You invented it. Don't you remember?

What the left is actually doing is re-visiting and building upon an old tired idea from the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy days:

The New Republic: MEDIA REX
... I had read articles about an administration report on the "media food
chain," and asked the White House counsel's office for a copy. ...

Press Briefing Transcript: McCurry on "Media Food Chain" Report
... it? Why would the White House waste its timeputting together this
"media food chain" theory? MCCURRY: It's not a waste of time. ...

Thomas Sowell is the man.

The Liberal media is a little too sanctimonious over this.

If Gore said it, then it is either false and stupid or just plain stupid. If the media reports, then it is not the facts but what they and their masters (liberals) would want you to believe. We should unite in telling the media that they are not credible. IT IS NOT RUSH, or radio or conservatism, IT IS THE VENOM AND PRIDE OF THE DEMOCRATS stench that is sooooooo evident to all.

About ten years ago, before the internet, it was very hard to get any kind of conservative input from the media. I remember going down to the public library to read Commentary and Conservative Chronicles to get an honest evaluation of the social and political scene. I was still a Democrat, but I started to suspect that I was in the wrong party after reading an agreeing with most of what I observed in those conservaive publications.

In my part of the country, using the St. Paul Pioneer Press as an example, it is my belief that most of the commentary in the major rags is still slanted to the liberal side. And the Pioneer Press is not even nearly as liberal as the Minneapolis (Red) Star Tribune or the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Conservative bias? Don't make me laugh.

Does anyone recall the comments Hillary made after the 1994 elections when she said something to the effect that they would have to do some rethinking about a gatekeeping function on the internet. Her remarks were concerning the information that was proliferating among the VRWC on the net.

Fact or Fiction?

Dem hubby and I(H. and W.) discussed biased media last night. Short and sweet it went like this.
HQ:Why do you think the media is biased?
WA: James Byrd, Reginald Carr, Jessie Dirkising, Matthew Shepard. WQ:Have you ever heard of these people?
HA: Byrd and Shepard, but not the other two.
WA: Find out who the other two are and we can continue this discussion.
(I went easy on him. Children present in the room.)

There was a Roper survey of 136 bureau chiefs and reporters that revealed 89% voted for Clinton where as only 7% voted for Bush the First, taking also into account another survey which found 80% of the press polled admitted to injecting their own bias into their reporting. By this poll is the press's own admission to being leftists and write as such. It's ridiculous Gore and the rest to assert that the press is against them.
