November 21, 2002 -- Of all the lies told during the PBS series recently aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting, Islam - Empire of Faith, the greatest is the one told tonight....(snip)
A socialist, which is the same as a communist or a fascist or a progressive or a liberal -- all of those flags flap in the same wind -- divides to conquer. During the last century, they set labor against management, black against white, rich against poor, and male against female, to name a few examples....(snip)

As shoppers gear up for the holidays, people around the world are questioning the corporate insistence that we can buy comfort, love, companionship, happiness and community with money...those who question the insistence just don't know where to shop.

I thought this was a pretty good article. Is your problem with it the Christian perspective of the author or is it with the substance of the article?
For example, given the language you quote, do you think there is a big difference between liberals and socialists? If so, what?
The author did a good job of telling you why he held his opinion. I thought it deserved better than Maureen Dowd style psychoanalysis.

or anyone else the author disapproves of, apparently Read the entire article and you'll understand the reason for his alarm.

During the last century, they set labor against management, black against white, rich against poor, and male against female This is the tool of the Left -- the dialectical wedge. Whenever you see a contrived gulf between groups -- "X" and "not X," -- be certain that there is a Marxist skulking somewhere nearby. Learn to recognize it. It is the track of the enemy.

Whats wrong with the author's summation? I dont see any Boy Scouts on that list?
To: Minutemen
Whats wrong with the author's summation? Well for one thing, the socialists, progressives and liberals were all killed, when the chance arose, by the fascists and communists... who in turn killed each other. This indicates a certain lack of fellow-feeling.
