I woke up this morning and saw this new design, it made me think my world was crubmling apart.... I am going to have to see a psychiatrist and leave my religion behind because obviously my God hates me imposing such atrocity on me. My life is sooooo bad.

I hate this new look myself. With everything changing in our government and the world , I would have hoped that at least the Free Republic format would remain the same. PLEASE, PLEASE, GO BACK TO THE OLD. I am LOST!

I don't like mony of the changes. Self-search is now useless.

2) Navigate the screen a bit and play with the links, its not hard
3) Ask questions, I would be glad to help you all.
4) Not to nit pick but you all had a week to look around as Jim R put the beta up for consumption on the header of the old site...

Scrolling down on the New page takes forever, it is a nuisance. The site is confusing, harder to navigate. Sorry Jim, The old FR was better

Admittedly I'm not the brightest bulb in the firmament and while the new look did cause me a certain amount of angst this morning, I'm coming around. I can't begin to appreciate the amount of work this must have taken. So hats off to the Robinsons, and in the meantime I'll see if I can grow some more little grey cells. Well...a lot more grey cells.

I logged on this morning with a simple goal, to find a post of mine with a picture url. HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH. I managed to locate the new self=search buttons (had to guess to click on my FR name). But instead of thread titles only, I had to page through complete posts! what a waste of time. I gave up and found my url elsewhere.

I HATE THIS. I HATE IT. I WANT MY FR back.

It's ugly. It's busy, it's gratuitously complicated. The old insterface was no frills, certainly, but straightforward and to the point.

This sucks.

I don't like some of it, the constant scrolling down, from replies to my posts and down through the threads trying to see which post's have the most responses is..dizzing ugh. But the graphics are awsome and some of the customizing advantages are pretty kewl.

I have to admit, though, when I first saw the new format I felt intimidated.
But after navigating around a few minutes, I had my sidebar customized to my liking.
The only thing I'm not crazy about are the small fonts.

No poll, vote or certain amount of whining will get the old FR back. Jim worked way too hard to just scrap it. Make recommendations or improvements, not just whimpering complaints.
