KEWL! I love it when modern archaeology can discover old sites and give us a better picture of things that happened so long ago. It shows how myths can rise up about events that are lost to written history, but are based in truth.
Wait a minute -- you're back already? I knew I should have used NiMH instead of alkaline...
It is not so much about rewriting history as it is connecting the history we have to a much larger, grander, more awe-inspiring story. Change history, change the future? It's possible.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Thanks Sabertooth for starting GGG, and coming up with the name (see #82). This is also an update to the ping message.
If I remember correctly the Aztec “calendar round” included 2 cycles, one the standard year and I think the other was the Venus year. They probably got it from the Mayans. Jews also celebrate a 50 year jubilee year I think when debts are forgiven. Some West African cultures also throw out old wood carvings every 50 years and carve new ones. I new of an American black man who bought a large number of these cast off carvings and had them displayed publicly. Unfortunately the building was burned and all lost.
The 50 year cycle (which is also give as 52 year cycle) was looked at ahead of the 50th anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash.
Well ole Cacyes dead right now.
Yes. Today Turkey declared it owns Jerusalem. Who knew?
This post and your link are both old but I will enjoy reading them as I was not on FR in 2001.
