Pope Francis: World Nearing ‘Breaking Point’ from Climate Change

Climate change has brought the world to the “breaking point,” Pope Francis asserted in his introduction to a 3-day climate summit to be held in the Vatican in May.

A firm believer in the climate “crisis,” the pontiff wrote that he has “heartfelt concerns” for “our suffering planet,” contending that “the world in which we live is collapsing” because of humanity’s failure to adequately address the crisis.

It is “indubitable” that the impact of climate change will increasingly prejudice the lives and families of many persons, he contends, adding that its effects are already felt in the areas of “healthcare, sources of employment, access to resources, housing, forced migrations, etc.”

Citing the Bishops of the United States, the pope asserts that climate change “is one of the principal challenges facing society and the global community” and its effects “are borne by the most vulnerable people, whether at home or around the world.”

Indeed, San Diego Bishop Robert W. McElroy, whom Pope Francis elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2022, has argued that while abortion is a great evil, “the long-term death toll from unchecked climate change is larger and threatens the very future of humanity.”

There are some good Jesuits, but Frank the Foolish isn’t one of them.

It is only five years until it’s four years to maybe six years left until only nine years remain before the critical eleven years of twelve-decade wait and see.

In other words, a lot of argie-bargie.

We should start the improvement one at a time. Let him cease to breathe first as an example.

I’ve thought for many years now that Francis holds no beliefs whatsoever in what the Bible teaches, let alone the power of the Lord really is.

I think the Pope needs to stick to reading the Bible. And praying. This Pope is a nut.

I beg to differ. Aiding hundreds if not thousands of Nazi’s flee the fallen Third Reich and helping them get safe passage to other lands such as Spain, Portugal and South America IMO is political.

Being political is NOT a pope's job, although helping people flee Hitler is a good deed. But, Francis was not around for that, so, what gives? If Francis had been around Hitler, chances are that he would have been on Hitler's side, just like he's on Hamas' and Iran's and China's and Russia's side now.

“although helping people flee Hitler is a good deed.”

That was not the case. The Catholic Church helped Nazi criminals escape the Allies at the end of WWII. This has been reported in numerous documentaries. If my recollection is correct, many were given new identities and smuggled out of Europe, which is how many got to South America. One route was via Spain where according to one documentary, after the Nazi’s got their new ID’s, they boarded Nazi submarines in a part of the Nazi navy that was still active after the surrender.
