White House expresses condolences on OJ Simpson’s death, with no mention of murder victims

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed condolences Thursday on the death of former NFL star OJ Simpson — but made no mention of the two people he was accused, and sensationally acquitted, of killing nearly three decades ago.

“Our thoughts are with his families [sic] during this difficult time — obviously with his family and loved ones,” Jean-Pierre said of Simpson. “And I’ll say this, I know that they have asked for some privacy. And so we’re going to respect that. And I’ll just leave it there.”

Simpson, 76, died of complications from prostate cancer just two months shy of the 30th anniversary of the brutal slaying of his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ron Goldman, an acquaintance, at her Brentwood, Calif. home on June 12, 1994.

Neither Brown nor Goldman were referenced by Jean-Pierre.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and Hall of Fame running back was accused of the double murder, but acquitted in October 1995 in a case dubbed the “Trial of the Century.”

Yeah, why the hell should the White House comment on a random murder at all? Much less one 30 years ago?

Can anyone imagine Eisenhower commenting on such a case? Even one big in the news? Imagine they asked him to comment on the Lindbergh murder case form 1932?
Ridiculous.

Why would they frame him for murder when they were letting him get away with domestic violence?

I wasn’t aware of the glove drying wet and shrinking angle. The visuals were powerful, as was the race card played very effectively against the detective(s) here.
This episode in history holds lessons still powerful today, especially. Since Obama poured gasoline on race relations and the fire still smolders.

Indeed.
I remember hearing the theory advanced that he was innocent but police were tired of his domestic violence issues and racist against his interracial marriage.
That never seemed fully plausible to equate with an extensive evidence planting but the police there and elsewhere have had history of documented evidence planting and racism so they have to own and deal with that legacy. The different reactions to the acquittal by race bothered me.

And why does the Whitehouse even mention him? Desperate for the black vote??

The limo driver, Allan Park, saw OJ with a mask and a knife

Double-murderer!

Your take reminds me of Norm MacDonald’s take: The O J trial divided the nation between those who thought O J was guilty and idiots.

Two things I was not aware of regarding the gloves 1) the gloves were saturated with blood causing the gloves to shrink. 2) OJ's lawyers told him to stop taking his meds for arthritis in his hands.

In the last year I got arthritis especially in my fingers. My winter gloves from last year no longer fit because of swelling.

This was done on purpose to do some gaslighting. Why would the White Hut even bother to comment on the death of a football player? It isn't like Simpson is celebrated by many Americans other than thug blacks.

The chase -

Lange repeatedly pleaded with Simpson to “throw the gun out [of] the window” for the sake of his mother and children. Simpson apologized for not turning himself in earlier that day and responded that he was “the only one who deserved to get hurt” and was “just gonna go with Nicole”

... Not that it really mattered, the OJ trial happened right after Rodney King got beat up by the LAPD, so there was no damn way this jury was going to convict a black man, no matter how good the evidence was

OJ also knew that the prosecutors would put the gloves in him, so he didn’t take his arthritis medicine for a couple of days causing his hands to swell.

Just in case you weren’t aware of the fact; even tanned/cured leather shrinks like hell when you get it wet, doesn’t matter whether it’s water, blood, or soda pop.

Once wet gloves thoroughly dry my extra large glove wont even fit my wife!
And she has very small hands compared to mine.

Here’s a small detail. Unfortunately DNA evidence wasn’t as well understood back then.

“Simpson’s DNA profile was found in the Bronco along with that of both victims. The glove contained the DNA profiles of Nicole and Ron, and the sock had Nicole’s DNA profile. At trial, the defense team valiantly fought back. Miscues in evidence collection were craftily exploited.”

I remember this when watching the trial.

" I would have never worn those ugly ass shoes.".

It turns out the shoeprint evidence at the civil trial was not all that impressive.

There was photographic evidence that O.J. Simpson wore a pair of Bruno Magli shoes. There was no evidence to establish that a pair of Bruno Magli shoes were at the crime scene. Bruno Magli was a designer, not a manufacturer. The Bruno Magli uppers were made by a company called 4C and the soles were manufactured by a company called Sigma Gomma. Sigma Gomma sold the U2887 sole to at least 20 different companies that manufactured shoes.

Footwear Impression Evidence, Detection, Recovery and Examination, Second Edition, 2000, CRC Press LLC, by William J. Bodziak

At page 445:

The efforts to connect O.J. Simpson with the actual purchase transaction of the Bruno Magli shoes was never successful.

[...]

It is common for manufacturers to create molds for shoe soles, which have interchangeable name or logo plates. This allows the manufacturer to use the same molds for more than one customer, by using more than one name in the mold. The interchangeable name plates can be any shape, but they are most commonly oval or rectangular. This was the case with the U2887 soles samples. When I received the samples from SILGA, I noticed there was an oval shape in the arch area of the sole where the brand name would appear. One of the molds, shown in Figure 15.10 with the oval slug bearing the name Bruno Magli resting on it, depicts how those slugs are changed. The sole samples I received shared three different names. One of these, of course, was the Bruno Magli name. The other soles contained either the name LORD, or the Italian words, ANTICA CUOIERIA. ANTICA CUOIERIA is not a brand name, but when translated mean something like “maker of fine footwear”.

At 445-456:

These names, located just in front of the raised heel, are held off the ground and do not record in an impression on a hard surface. None of the Bundy impressions revealed any impression from this area of the shoe. This meant that, based upon the information provided by the crime scene impressions, the soles (and shoes) could not be limited to only those bearing the Bruno Magli name, but could have been made by shoes having the LORD name, if any of the LORD shoes had been sold in the U.S.

SILGA, once again, was very cooperative in providing the names of the shoe companies who purchased the soles manufactured with the LORD name. Although the total sales of the LORD soles was relatively small, it was still necessary to contact approximately 20 shoe companies who had made shoes with those soles, to determine if they had exported any of the LORD shoes to the U.S.

The shoeprints at Bundy could have come from any one of more than 20 companies not named Bruno Magli that used the Silga Gomma sole. There is no reason why the shoeprints made at Bundy had to be made by shoes sold only in the United States or Puerto Rico. They could have been purchased anywhere and worn or carried into the United States by any feet that fit into them.

At the O.J. criminal trial:

There was one other name that they did have that went into this area, I can never remember how to spell it, but it is a-n-t-i-c-a, and I believe the last name is c-o-u-r-i-c-i-a or c-a, and it basically means tradition of fine shoe making in Italian, I'm told, and it was only for the display shoes, they had never sold a shoe with that name on it.

Correcting the spelling, Bodziak claimed "ANTICA CUOIERIA is not a brand name, but when translated means something like 'maker of fine footwear'."

Here the precise scientific translation, after years of pondering it, is "something like 'maker of fine footwear'." Surely, an expert can do better than that.

It is not something like maker of fine footwear either.

ANTICA is not too difficult. Aside from its relationship to antique, in context it could translate to "time honored" or "old fashioned."

CUOIERIA translates as a leather goods shop. Antica Cuoieria may be translated as time honored leather goods shop, or perhaps, Ye Olde Leather Goods Shoppe.

As to ANTICA CUOIERIA not being a brand name, let me help that brother out,

https://anticacuoieria.it/

Contrary to this FBI expert, Antica Cuoieria is a very prominent high end Italian shoe shop with locations in Florence and Milan.

Shop the Antica Cuoeira brand.

ANTICA CUOIERIA is a classic shoe brand in Italy.

Thank you.. I was going to mention that 'little' detail too.
If I remember correctly, his own defense attorneys suggested/recommended to him that he should not take his meds, so that his hands would swell.
