That’s the question writer Kathryn Jezer-Morton posed in a recent column for New York Magazine’s The Cut.
“In her son’s case, I wouldn’t bet on it,” New York Times columnist Ross Douthat shot back on X.
He’s right.
Jezer-Morton is facing an age-old conundrum of parenthood: Kids rebel against their parents’ politics. Except, in 2024, the classic trend is being inverted.

I've got a relative who has a six-year old son. The boy is as smart as a whip, and a typical boy. Taught himself to read. Loves physical activity, loves being outdoors, is generally fearless, loves taking apart machinery and putting it back together.
He's bigger than the other kids, a bit more aggressive, and gets bored easily. Mom is "woke" and Dad follows along. They have him in typical public school, and its standard attempts to feminize him, have branded the boy as "troubled" and needing "counseling"
I'm afraid they are going to put him on their various kid-control drugs soon. I've been telling the father to avoid at all costs, and find other options for his education. I can't talk to Mom, because she's just another post-modern millennial wokester.

My mother was a proud union democrat. And voted that way until she died. For all I know, she may still be voting that way. Anyways all her children are conservative. And our children are conservative except for 1. President Trump being a non-politician brought alot of younger folks onboard. Couldn’t believe the young ones at the rallys.

Is it thought? Think of how much farther to the left the country would be, if we didn’t have it. We would have had zero conservative Senators in the last hundred years. A state legislature will always pick a moderate.
My grandson and all of his friends are TRUMPERS and have been from the beginning.
Plus they’ll find out that we’ve got all the good stuff - guns, tools, trucks, cars with big engines that you don’t have to plug-in and girls with no tats and big t!ts who don’t try to hide them.
This is not surprising at all. What are the messages that young men are getting, especially young white men? That everything wrong with the world is their fault. They haven’t even gotten started in life yet, and they’re being blamed for everything. I mean what the heck do you expect them to do, just roll over and go along with it?
The divide between young men and women is horrible now. When you hear young American guys in their 20s saying “Passport Bros”, it must be real bad out there.
But the government is backing the women full throttle. That’s why they have such ire for conservative women who don’t go along with the narrative.

Rebelling against their parents is as old as time. Young boys have to be tired of their lies.

Twisted lefty mothers are a toxic threat to boys everywhere. No wonder so many young men are swearing off getting married. What man wants to be controlled by a sickie.
I am sometimes totally exasperated by the leftist mind set. Do they really enjoy paying more taxes to support invaders that put a strain on our societal systems? Along that line of thinking, who gave them permission to encumber my assets (ie: pay more taxes) so they feel better about their life? Why do they feel that the things that my g-father, my father, and I worked for are more than we deserve and should be taken away from us?

I’m 73 and feel the same. I agree .44%.
I, on the other hand, was raised by nut case liberals and became the only conservative in my family of origin. My kids, however, despite the fact I accidentally married a liberal faking to be a conservative, all turned out to be conservative. My ex, came out during the time of the worst unqualified President ever, Obama.

Our drive-time talk show host Irv Homer was a no-nonsense libertarian.
It was the perfect storm against leftist claptrap.
She let me play the live version of Anthem in class.
