Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s allegations from his interview with Tucker Carlson.
During the interview posted to X on Thursday night, Putin claimed that Johnson “dissuaded” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from coming to an agreement with Russia and avoiding a war entirely. According to Putin, an agreement had already been outlined in a document.
“He put his signature and then he himself said, ‘We were ready to sign it, and the war would have been over long ago. However, Prime Minister Johnson came to talk us [Ukraine] out of it, and we’ve missed that chance,’” Putin said via a translator.
Johnson wrote an op-ed in the Daily Mail on Friday and also issued a video response the outlet posted on X. The former prime minister joined in a chorus of political leaders that condemned Carlson to agree to an interview but was among the few mentioned by name by Putin.

Let’s see Boris get the guts to sit down and do an interview with Tucker.
Using a comb is foreign concept for Johnson.
The interview was fine. I think pwople enjoy rapid fire style question and answers...that’s cable tv style because you grt 5 minute segments. This was two hours. Levin does these type of conversational interviews. It’s better than the gotcha stuff. Also, tough when it’s all translated.

Tucker made a mistake. He wanted a real interview and got a long-winded and stupid diatribe from Putin that he didn’t dare dispute.
Putin spent most of the “interview” claiming that Ukraine really has always belonged to Russia. He left out Stalin’s attempt to annihilate the Ukrainians with mass starvation in the 1930s and Tucker asked him how Ukraine’s alleged “nazis” justified his murdering civilians in their homes, in their markets with missiles, bombs, artillery and drones.
Tucker was stupid to want to interview a man who is not a shade different than Hitler, or Mao, or any other mass murderer who conducts war on people who never hurt anyone in Russia but committed the sin of defying him.
If it hadn’t been Boris, it would have been some other errand boy.
Nevertheless, Boris is the single most destructive Western politician on this war, other than Biden himself.
The only things Ukraine will achieve in this war is to get hundreds of thousands of their guys killed, lose even more of their territory, have what they retain significantly damaged, and create opportunities for corrupt actors in both Ukraine and the West to hugely profit.
I guess the last part is what really drove the decision making.
The NeoCons think they “degraded” the Russian military. More like they tuned it up for the main event, while exposing the recruiting, training, weapons design and production deficiencies of the West.
The Russians will fix what didn’t work, while the West congratulates itself, and doesn’t change a thing.
This from the man who turned down an ending agreement to Ukraine/Russian war. Putin pointed his finger at him and now he can only call people names.
All these fools that claim they are patriots for opposing the eviiil Russians are potentially setting the country up for devastation in world war. Or, worse, wiped out in a nuclear war.
They are so delusional they will try to bluff.
My guess is Putin calls it, and they cave.
But who knows ? They are so delusional and incompetent anything is possible.
