I did use a rather broad brush, but I think we should consider what the founding fathers intended regarding just who was qualified to vote - those who owned property, who were productive, and who were capable of understanding the potential consequences of electing grifters and liars.

Those who do not know history, (failed education), who don’t understand economics, who vote based on who will “gibdemdat” the most - are taking this country right down the tubes.

And women are just as guilty of irresponsible voting as liberals, blacks, and those who prefer communism to small town capitalism. And, dont get me started on Corporate grifters, lobbyists, blackmailers, and corrupted state and federal agencies.

I think we are witnessing the end of the American dream, and it is our own damn fault. We women bear a lot of blame for it, too. Look at some of our congresswomen, who are totally clueless of the importance of the constitution, and the oath they take to uphold it!

I'm not sure how congress can stop it...they put clamps on objections and narrowed the reason for the objections.
almost iron-clad objections
synopsis taken from wiki

Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022

The bill clarifies that the Vice President's role in the counting of the electoral votes is "solely ministerial," with no power to "determine, accept, reject, or otherwise adjudicate or resolve disputes over the proper list of electors, the validity of electors, or the votes of electors."

Any objection made by senators or representatives during the counting of the electoral votes must be made in writing and signed by at least one-fifth of the Senators and one-fifth of the Members of the House of Representatives. Previously, an objection required the signatures of only one member of each chamber.

The bill also limits the grounds for an objection to one of the following:

1. The electors of a state were not lawfully certified
2. An elector's vote was not "regularly given"

I always thought that was or should be the central issue.
It also allows SCOTUS to avoid identifying “What is insurrection” and going down that path.

Yes I understand.

Sadly, we have gotten so bad that it is difficult at times to notice the difference between genders in how some respond to lunacy.

After all, some of the Republican women in Congress are now more conservative and level headed than the likes of Landon and McConnell are in the US Senate.

...so they will do everything in their power to clamp down on opposition before it’s too late.

Also known as 'enemies of the people'.

Let me say that I realize that the Senate which is a majority of democrats is not a court of law ...

If a majority of “Any” body of democrats can’t find insurrection charges on Trump, it’s safe to say no one can!

Especially hack Judges in Colorado!

Definitely, and I hope that their example is picked up by others of us.

We must keep in mind how compromised both sides of the aisle have become, and how inured we have become to behavior that would once have brought shame on entire families.

I am not sure the majority of the voters are even paying attention to how we are losing our country - never mind spending much time thinking about it - present company here at FR mostly excepted, we hope!

But if it had been a complex regulatory case, all of his other crap probably would’ve lost the case. Trump’s fortunate that the oral argument didn’t matter here and all the justices (except Sotomayor) came well prepared to side with him. T

It could be used as precedent. Trump has not been judged to be an insurrectionist or a traitor and 2 impeachment efforts have failed. Unfortunately he’ll have to go to the USSC on each guilty verdict.

They could initially refuse to seat him but it would have to be done via state delegations not by numbers of a party in congress. If the Dems were to get the congress again by just a few members but Pubbies control more state houses then The president would be seated.
