Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has no path to the Republican nomination. It’s an open secret, though the woman vows to fight to the bitter end, like Davy Crockett at the Alamo. She got waxed by Trump in Iowa and New Hampshire and tried to spin both crushing defeats as victories. Liberal donors are keeping her war chest healthy, but this isn’t about country or service. It’s about ego now. Sure, Trump has an ego, but he’s also a former president, real estate magnate, and soon will be the 2024 Republican nominee. He’s winning stuff—period. Haley is not, so why keep up the appearance like this is a legitimate two-man race?
As Trey Gowdy noted during the night of the New Hampshire Primary, South Carolina voters like Tim Scott and Nikki Haley, with the former being the most popular politician in the state and the latter viewed as a good governor, could neither beat Trump. Haley’s approval could be 90 percent—they’d still vote for Trump. It’s what it is. So, can someone explain why Haley was on Saturday Night Live last night....

Who thought this was a good idea? She won’t get a bump from this because this isn’t 1968, she's not Nixon, and Laugh-In is no longer on the air.
Richard Nixon credits his appearance on the famed sketch comedy show as one of the reasons why he won the 1968 election. Does Haley think she can bounce back from a surprise SNL cameo? Or does she know she’s about to get thrashed again and doesn’t care? If she's about to be pummeled, she might as well go out having fun. Based on her Iowa and New Hampshire speeches, you could argue that she feels this could help humanize her more with voters....

Obama appeared on SNL in November 2007. In a sketch involving a Halloween party, one character was wearing an Obama mask. Then he pulled the mask off, and it was Obama himself.
Her plan is the GOPe plan: force Trump to spend money in primaries he cannot lose so he is hanstrung financially in the general against Biden and unable to self-find because of all the lawsuits. And in the off chance Trump is convicted on one of the oodles of bull-s*** charges, she’s the puppet that nobody voted for or wants, ready to step in.
I don’t know why this has to be repeated so often:
She’s NOT in it to win it and she never was.
She’s being paid to stay in as a spoiler - try to steal some of Trump’s thunder.
The less thunder he has going into the convention, the less control he has (they hope) over platform, cabinet picks, running mate, etc..
They are hoping if he’s having trouble clinching the nomination that they can stick him with a Deep State RINO running mate like they stuck Reagan with Bush in 1980 - or if not a RINO, at least a non-MAGA Republican.
I really don’t think that’s going to work this time - betrayals by Mike Pence, Bill Barr, Nikki Haley and the like are too fresh in everyone’s minds.
Trump’s MAGA base may not represent a majority of the votes he needs to win in November, but they are certainly the heart and soul of Trump’s America First populist movement and both he and his base know that there is just no point winning back the White House if it means cutting a deal with RINOs and watering down the America First agenda.
He won’t be cutting any deals this time - it’s all or nothing and he knows it.

I remember it well when it originally aired. Still funny. I liked his mock seriousness. I had no idea that he had the theater chops to pull it off.
Easy enough: The Leftists who run SNL thought having her on would be a pretty good dig at Trump and maybe even her, too.
Nikki Haley, bless her heart, is just not ready for prime time. She may never be ready, but this attempt to scale one of the most difficult of obstacles in her path to glory and the nomination, may have marginalized her future attempts, almost to the point of oblivion.
Donald Trump is truly a force of nature, and those who stand in The Donald’s path have known the wrath of the storm.

That's what she, DeSanctimonius, and Christie Creme were banking on when they entered the race in 2023 because all of their RINO consultants told them they just needed to get second place and all would be theirs after Trump is disqualified.

I’m guessing he has most of his assets tied up in real estate which, unless he sells, doesn’t help fund things in the near term. The cash he has is going to get tied up with ridiculous judgements on the hundreds of millions that he has to put up pending appeals.
Trump has 600 million is cash. This was reported last week.
She is a joke, however; her party loyalty sucks. It is all about her.
