Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, has made a startling declaration regarding Russia's military objectives in Ukraine.

In a statement on Telegram, he affirmed that Russia's so-called special operation aims to continue, with its goals including the disarmament of Ukrainian forces and the rejection of neo-Nazism by the current Ukrainian state.

Medvedev also stated that Russia intends to capture additional Ukrainian cities, specifically naming Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv.

“Why would they announce this now”?

Its the holiday season, and Medvedev is likely drinking even more than usual.

Can't help you there. If you want to be able to put 500 words together, I recommend an on-line English as a Second Language course.

The Ukies should have negotiated peace early on in the War.

I agree, No WW III—or it would have happened by now—No one wants that. Europe wants no more World Wars, two were enough.
This tells me they seek a military solution and the status of the Ukraine Army is such that they could float this trial balloon.

I am not hoping for it.

But we are warming up for it. The decline of empires is always messy.

Sounds like a happy ending.

Yes, the table was all set in April, 2022 in Istanbul. Biden sent Boris Johnson to kill the deal.

I hate Russia.

The problem is the US is burning resources and the problems are getting bigger.

If you haven’t been paying attention, the US tried to organize a force to defend the Red Sea shipping lanes, and most of Europe said “Nah, we will just not ship to Israel. Not our fight.”

The border is open, pro pali riots are going on all over country, and we have states deciding the election because they don’t like Trump.

At some point, it can’t hold together. Just like the British empire declined, so is ours.

“ The Nikolaev and Odessa oblasts would be a good way to re-route Russian natgas and oil away from the Ukrainian energy thieves and protect customers like Hungary.”
*****************************************

True dat. I suspect that Russian strategic thinkers have now realized that it’s too dangerous to Russian interests to allow Ukraine Black Sea access. Ukrainians probably have themselves to blame for that shift which I conjecture was triggered by Ukrainian successful attacks on the Crimea region.

Moving munitions and troops.

Stretching the Overton Window with announcements.

If Russia conquers Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic countries and Eastern Europe are next on the list.

Wait and see.

Medvedev and Hillary happy as larks

That's Sergey Lavrov. Lavrov seems like a fairly competent and serious man. Medvedev is a drunken clown.

Are you calling the Russians neocons and globalists?
