Trump Blames DeSantis for FSU Football’s Brutal Playoff Snub

The snubbing of Florida State University’s football team from the college football playoff on Sunday has gone political, with Donald Trump saying disgruntled fans should blame Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the team being left out of the final four.

In a post to Truth Social, the former president said FSU was “treated very badly” by the playoff’s selection committee, which voted to allow two one-loss teams—the University of Texas and University of Alabama—in over the undefeated FSU.

“(FSU) become the first Power Five team to be left out of the College Football Playoffs,” Trump wrote, omitting that FSU is the first undefeated power-five team to be left out. “Really bad lobbying effort…Lets blame DeSanctimonious!!!”

Trump probably doesn’t even know what “sanctimonious” means, but what’s more incredible is that DJT uses a word with more than three syllablles.

When you run from debates with your tail between your legs,

Why compete against the contenders who are vying for second place?

We know what Trump has accomplished, we know what he promised and could have accomplished had it not been for the Democrat held House of Rep and Senate.

Why should he waste his time and stand on a stage with wanna-be's and echo what he has already promised and fulfilled in the past?

In the world of boxing, you have to work your way up the ranks for a chance to take on the current champion.

Given the failed state of DeSantis campaign, he should be thrilled with any trolling Trump passes on his way.

I mean, he had a republican house and senate until he lost them in 2019, but given his predilection for getting what he considers insufficiently loyal republicans voted out of office, and thereby likely leading to the democrats controlling the house and senate in 2025, even if Trump wins — how is he going to get ANY of his promises done this time, when he could not before?

Except maybe he’ll be able to work with the democrats to kill pro-life state laws Trump disagrees with, like Trump promised he would. But my guess is that is not something you are looking forward to, or at least I hope not.

Wouldn’t it be something if FSU somehow managed to beat Georgia?

That’s why we play the games..

Using your logic, how is any Republican elected going to fulfill any of Trump's or their own promises?

Just curious, which of Trump's promises were not fulfilled? Was it the approval of the drilling in ANWR that was cancelled when Biden took office?

Was it the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline that was cancelled the day Biden took office?

Was it the building of the border wall that spanned 450 miles before Biden took office and cancelled it?

Was it the termination of the Iranian nuclear deal and the sanctions imposed on them that Biden terminated when he took office?

Was it the termination of the US's involvement in the UN Climate Accord that was reinstated when Biden took office?

The list goes on and anything the current crop of wanna-be's say is nothing more than what Trump has already said, promised and done in the past.

First of all it’s funny, what with the serious and fake things people have blamed Trump for. Lots of never-Trumper complain about Trump attacking people while the media tries to blame him for the border crisis. Laying down in the face of attacks is a loser position.

Then we can go to the tape and see that DeSantis himself has gotten into the fray with blaming Trump for things.

Lastly, do governors actually lobby for the state teams? It seems that bit is important when keeping score here.

People are missing the publicity value of this!  How many FSU fans are there in Florida?  Millions.  And Trump has echoed the feelings of these FSU fans.

President Trump has no interest in disrupting the NCAA voting process.  He's simply siding with FSU fans.

And why didn't DeSantis, the GOVERNOR of Florida, jump on this issue?  That's precisely the question millions of FSU fans are asking themselves this morning.

So a harmless little tweet has reinforced Trump's interest in protecting the people of Florida -- and by doing so he's blocked the Governor from taking the lead on this opportunity to put points on the board.

It's a brilliant move by President Trump that will add a percentage or two to his primary win in Florida.

You could just about argue any of the last two teams, and you’d have someone upset, but IMO I don’t think us Bama fans expected to get in, and would have understood:

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. Texas
5. Bama
6. Georgia

..........I had the honor of being a few feet from The Great Bear Bryant when Texas played Alabama in the 1981 Cotton Bowl. Texas Coach was Fred Akers. Texas won 14-12.

Below is a link to some great video of Alabama and Texas in the game I attended back then.

A lot of hurting DeSanctimonious fans on this thread looking for something, anything to bash President Trump with given all the bad news their whiny, 13- year old girl acting DeSantis has gotten of late.

Let them rant! Their boy is going to be stomped by President Trump in the Primaries!
