DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The United States committed to the idea of phasing out coal power plants, joining 56 other nations in kicking the coal habit that’s a huge factor in global warming.
U.S. Special Envoy John Kerry announced over the weekend that America was joining the Powering Past Coal Alliance, which means the Biden Administration commits to building no new coal plants and phasing out existing plants. No date was given for when the existing plants would have to go, but other Biden regulatory actions and international commitments already in the works had meant no coal by 2035.

We can’t legally “join” anything without a treaty ratification.
How did the US take this “pledge”? Was there an act of Congress passed by both Houses and signed into law by POTUS? Was there even an EO? Or is it just an informal decision by the Brandonistas to quietly undermine the mining and use of coal. Does that include no more coal use for the manufacture of steel and man-made industrial diamonds?
Meanwhile, Kerry, turning the electric power off for Americans, blithely ignores the gargantuan coal production that China is implementing.
As Kerry jaunts the world preaching his "Green" scam, he tries to ignore the gigantic middle finger China jams in his face.
The next US Administration will have to totally reverse this insanity or it will preside over the rapid demise of the 18th Century American political experiment.
It seems China does not really believe the Tinker Bell world of glittering fairy dust that Kerry has been gayly sprinkling around the globe.
And he made this announcement from his private 787.

The guy has zero qualifications about any of this. This is his education majoring in political science:
“Kerry graduated from Yale with a bachelor of arts degree in 1966. Overall, he had lackluster grades, graduating with a cumulative average of 76 over his four years.”
Then he got a law degree from Boston college.
That’s it! Where’s the science degree?
That’s the thing about liberals, they don’t need any qualifications, simply declaring themselves experts in a subject is enough to get them appointed to positions they have absolutely no business being in, like Al Gore or AOC who use to be a bartender now she’s a self appointed expert in atmospheric physics.
Meanwhile real experts like Dr. Richard Lindzen who has been an atmospheric physicist for 60 years or Dr. Roy Spencer are completely ignored because they don’t agree with the self appointed experts.
