Israel’s Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer told CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday that more than 600 people have been killed in Israel, and that the death toll is likely to rise.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said Sunday that Israel destroyed around 800 targets in Gaza, including launching pads used by Hamas. The Palestinian health ministry said 370 Palestinians were killed there, and 2,200 others injured.
No strangers to war with Israel, many Gazans are sheltering in their homes, with the vast majority lacking access to bunkers. The territory is one of the most densely populated places on earth, where some 2 million people live in an area of 140 square miles.

It might have been. “Instigated” to allow for a preemptive strike against Iran. I am not sure how that will be avoided, but seems pretty reasonable to believe that Israel is putting that on the table.
There is precedent: The US went after Afghanistan.

But, but, but...I though Israel was completely surrounded by Muslim nations. “Surely” all those nations would accept their co-religionists as immigrants??
IMO, Israel should send the bulldozers and/or tanks into Gaza and level the whole thing. Tell the current denizens to load up and head out to anywhere except Israel or Gaza.
They need to be treated like the muslims did to the innocent people of Constantinople. How come they don’t consider Istanbul to be occupied territory?
