Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a 2024 presidential candidate, said on Sunday that he would not serve as President Trump’s vice president if the former president asked him to be his running mate.
“No, I’m running for president,” DeSantis said in an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” when asked whether he would accept a theoretical offer.
DeSantis’s comments come in response to Trump’s recent jab at the other GOP presidential candidates, among whom Trump said he did not see a potential running mate.

DeSantis got talked into this POTUS run due to his own gullibility and uh, self-esteem. He'll become a less effective governor now, which is the RINO plan for him. Only when he turns to re-elected President Trump will he be able to retain the governor's mansion.

Why slam a door shut if there's nothing to be gained by doing so?
Which waffling voters does he expect to pick up by that statement? Any Trump haters probably already support him and voters who like Trump are turned off.
His statement sounds like personal animus toward Trump and exasperation that he is polling so poorly.
