Gingrich: ‘Trump Will Be Nominee,’ GOP Should Cancel Future Debates
Breitbart ^ | 28 Sep 2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 09/29/2023 12:34:24 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Fox News contributor and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “The Ingraham Angle” that former President Donald Trump will be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee.

Gingrich said, “I suspect the money is there, but the votes aren’t. I’m a big fan of Glenn Youngkin. I think he’s doing a great job as governor. I think in 2028, he could be a very impressive, maybe even frontrunner for president, but not this time. Not this year.”

He continued, “I was talking to our mutual friend, the pollster Matt Towery this afternoon, and Matt said to me, based on what he saw last night, this race is over, Donald Trump will be the nominee, they might as well quit having the various debates because they don’t work, they’re not helping anybody, and I think that’s where we are. I think Trump will be the nominee and the question now for everybody is do you want to see Joe Biden reelected or do you want to help Donald Trump? There’s no middle ground here, I don’t think.”

Gingrich added, “I think the Republican National Committee should cancel the future debates and say, ‘Look, we recognize the objective fact that Trump will be the nominee. We want to work with him.”

He concluded, “In some of these races, some of these polls, Trump is like 43 points ahead of the next person, 43 points. He’s gonna be the nominee.”

may mention DeSantis for about 30 seconds

LOL yeah right. DeSantis is clearly living in Trump's head 24/7.

Apparently you haven’t noticed that Trump has already pivoted to a general campaign against Biden.

Trump just spent $250k mailing out anti-DeSantis fliers in Iowa.

So, either Trump enjoys lighting money on fire or Trump doesn’t believe the polls.

Which is it?

I agree with Newt.

The backers of the other R candidates should meet with Trump and cut a deal to back him.

It would clear out his legal fee problems and focus all of the energy and money on winning 2024.

Partner, I agree to just cancel the rest of these debates and have Trump time to select a nominee.

It should be a person that backs him up though.

Since Pence did not see it this way but we did!!!

"Thats why I still support him. I just can’t stand the unfairness when everything is piling on against a single guy. It’s injustice."

I would pick Youngkin from Virginia for VP and let the others have cabinet spots or ambassadorships (assuming that promising jobs like that is legal...).

Gingrich is simply saying what the facts are.

President Trump is actually our INCUMBENT.

Great pic in Youngkin then fill out those cabinet posts.

Conditioned on them dropping out now and turning over their raised campaign cash to Trump’s campaign, I would offer the following:

Youngkin: VP
DeSantis: DHS (if he declines, then DHS to Greg Abbott)
Haley: Ambassador to China (She wants SoS, however)
Ramaswamy: Sec of Commerce
Christie: Secretary of HUD (he might do some good there)
Pence: Ambassador to the UK (cushy pomp and very little controversy)

Also,
Palin: Sec of Interior
Flynn: Sec of Defense or Director of National Security
Sidney Powell: Attorney General
(the biggest pro-nuclear power person): Energy
Tim Scott: Leave in Senate, but rig it so he gets a Chairmanship of Something

Comments and suggestions?
