Tropical Depression 10 has formed between the Yucatan Peninsula and the Western Tip of Cuba. Governor DeSantis issued a state of emergency for 33 Florida counties in advance of the system.

Good Morning NN, My Son just moved to Lagro so I am watching both cost these days.

Letting everyone know hotels are empty over here on the east coast. Flagler Beach is about 3 hours away.

I think its rather difficult to predict the intensity since the water is really warm. I always thought it would be a two but not sure about a three. If the forward speed keeps as fast as it is forecast to that will be a big help in limiting the damage.

Stupidest thing Ive read here, nobody wishes for a Cat 3÷ hurricane to hit their town, this thing is blowing yp, Cat 4 quite possible.

Definitely difficult to predict intensity. Idalia will pass through the super-warm loop current. If the storm intensifies into 3/4 once in the GOM (a la Charley and Ian), it will be too late at that point for mass evacuations in the Tampa Bay area.
