Desperate? No way, I’m wrapping up the night comforted that I’ve picked a winner and DeSantis showed it tonight. I watched Trump’s interview and happy that I supported him in 2016 and 2020, but glad we’ve got someone better for 2024.

All eyes were on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has kept his second-place status among the non-Trump candidates but has lost steam in recent weeks.
Other than his central position on the stage, DeSantis was not treated as a front-runner by his opponents, who didn’t go after him as many had expected.
“DeSantis had the most to lose and probably did because he didn’t meet, let alone beat, expectations,” Republican consultant Saul Anuzis said.
So, while DeSantis wasn’t the target of other candidates’ attacks, he also didn’t stand out in any memorable way.
Someone who did stand out was entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
I caught part of the Charlie Kirk show / Posobeic commentary on the GOP debate...
They thought ramaswamy won, and desantis really was a disappointment who couldn’t get any traction with his rehearsed, canned comments.
Despite consistently polling as the top Republican presidential contender behind Trump, DeSantis mostly failed to make an impression during the debate. He notably avoided many direct attacks like those lobbed at Ramaswamy, who has risen to third place in some polling as DeSantis has appeared to slip.
