Biden unfazed by modest jobs report and signs of a hiring slowdown [economy slowing?]
Washington Times ^

President Biden said Friday that the economy is continuing to grow despite Labor Department data released earlier in the day showing weaker-than-expected growth in the employment market.

“Unemployment near a record low and the share of working-age Americans who have jobs at a 20-year high: that’s Bidenomics,” the president said in a statement.

The report also found that unemployment dipped slightly to 3.5% last month from 3.6% in June and average hourly wages grew 4.4%, slower than last year.

Mr. Biden‘s positive rhetoric on the economy followed the release of a relatively modest July jobs report, which showed that U.S. employers added 187,000 jobs last month. The number fell short of the 200,000 jobs that were expected to be added. It also remained static from June, when 185,000 jobs were added.

Republicans were quick to contradict Mr. Biden, who is vacationing at his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

“Bidenomics is simple: you pay more to get less. Families and small businesses, who are already failing to keep up with sky-high prices and falling real wages, are left to foot the bill as Biden bounces from vacation to vacation avoiding any accountability or responsibility for his failed economy,” said Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Just like during in the O’Bummer era, you can take the number of “new jobs” and assume it’s really the number of jobs lost. NOT ONE NET NEW JOB was created during the communist regime in power before Trump or the communist regime in power after Trump.

I just saw a headline from the Babylon Bee about the average American having twice as many jobs as they did a year or two ago.

Well now - it’s Trump’s policies that caused it, after all. That will be the narrative. He “still has a lot of work to do” to reverse all of the damage caused by Trump’s economic policies. But Joe is committed to doing the hard work that must be done.

The elder statesman - the steady hand during times of trouble. Good ol’ Joe Biden.

Does that make you sick? It is what a lot of people believe and will be lead to believe. A rerun of 2020. Those ads were scary well done and naseuating. But there was no competing message offered. He was defined as one of the most gifted leaders ever to seek the office of President, hope was just around the corner, etc. And there was nothing defining the true Joe Biden on most of these stations. He had free reign.

That is the campaign narrative, much like the narrative during the entire 2020 campaign that pretty much went uncontested the entire campaign season for much of the viewing and voting public. Probably will be the same thing in 2024...the MAGA base will sit on their behinds and keep their wallets closed yet again for a 5th election season in a row. Did in 2018, did in 2020, did in 2022, and again so far in 2023 - while the Democrats have been and are in full war mode. Then so-called conservative publications will run articles following around the establishment Super PACs and portraying them as being “in charge” of who gets funding or not - a falsehood - stirring up anger at “The GOPe” while in effect empowering them - a completely voluntary action - leaving our candidates twisting in the wind and blaming the elites for their - indeed our - *own* inaction.

Yes, I’m pessimistic. The base napped in 2018, napped in 2020, napped in 2022, and is napping again in 2023. Why should 2024 be any different? This did not use to be the case. I remember all of talk radio and all conservative web forums including this one talking about what in many cases would be considered obscure, localized races as they could be very important in the long run. One example the Wisconsin Supreme Court race between Prosser and Kloppenburg...still remember their names by heart. We were all over that race weeks - maybe even months - before the election day. Glued to it. Talk radio as well - pushing for people to get out there and vote. Obscure special elections - the same. All hands on deck - full national attention. And the last Supreme Court race in Wisconsin? Hardly talked about except like a day before - a few talk shows mentioned it “oh, yeah, there’s an important race up in Wisconsin - so those of you up there be sure to vote.” Meanwhile, the Left had been fighting tooth and nail the entire time. We lost...and that Court flipped. In past years, this off year governors races have also been all the rage in similar fashion. This year, you would hardly even know there were any elections. But the Democrats - they are working overtime. And they see a possible strong Presidential contender for their future bench - but we are just sitting around. When I say “we”, I don’t mean us here on this forum - but at large, there is scant attention, let alone activism, etc. Simply not plugged in.

They make it sound like he is not only aware of his surroundings and that he isn’t running for US Senator from Delaware with the support of the late Rep. Jackie Walorski but is also poring over binders of figures and the spreadsheets on his three screen computer for the latest data.

While napping after ice cream.

Did Biden actually take questions or did a lackey issue a press blurb? I doubt he got his flabby 80 year old ass out of his beach chair long enough to focus on a response.

Biggest problem is/was more ballots counted for them than us.

Not votes...ballots.

The big steal of PA, GA, MI, AZ went unchallenged in any meaningful way with the courts fleeing screaming from the issue. Rulings like lack of standing, no proof of harm etc.
You are correct that the dumbles work/worked tirelessly and relentlessly while we depend on some idea of fairness in the systems they corrupted.

I agree, but how do we even start to fight back on this? The system is corrupted. We have great numbers on our side but not many of those are willing to take to the streets. We don’t really have much time.

Severely limit absentee/mail in voting.

I think that would go along way to stopping the millions of “found” ballots.

In 1960 the GOP ran in part on the recovery from a 1959 recession, claiming how much things had gotten better. JFK would give the picture of how certain groups were struggling economically, unemployment, no way to pay doctor bills, buck and a quarter minimum wage, etc. He would finish his speech by saying, “And the republicans are telling you, you should be happy, you never had it so good.”

I doubt the GOP has anyone with the sense to use that simple rhetorical headshot against Biden. Maybe. Hope springs eternal.
